It's a homebrew cart. Those aren't cheap to get made. I'm sure it's mostly to recoop the cost.

Owen Good did an article regarding the game. He was known as Kotaku's sports game reviewer for a long time. He now works for Polygon. If it's not something you want, there's also the option not to buy it. I included the link to the ROM above.

?? 30 bucks and hour = a couple hours. Is 30 bucks an hour cause for suspicion of being the typical FBG one-upper-liar??

Just buy the game and skimp on something else for a few days or whatever to recoup the cost, and throw up a 120 yard pass from Johnny Football to Miles Austin for a nice jump catch TD with no time left.
