Ted Thompson.. great pck Ted..you idiot! (1 Viewer)

Just a link to let you know what kind of crap TT is picking up!! Here's the article on his latest gem of a pick up Ryan Grant!! TT is the reason I like to drink!! Here's the link: http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=655720
:lmao:
Yup...so much hate for TT...yet what has he done.Grant

Jennings

Jones

Hawk

Woodson

Pickett

Crosby

keeping key guys like

Jenkins

Kampman

Harris

Barnett

Driver

All of them happy with new deals.

All of his moves have not been great...but what GM is 100%?

Everyone whined about losing Walker and Green...a
I didn't whine.Thompson picks starters in the 1st 3 rounds about 50%.Is that good?

Harrell 1st round even though he knew he had injury problems.

Brian Brohm and Brandon Jackson in the 2nd.

He's good at some things but going into this year without a solid starter if Grant went down and still no LT for the future is not good.

I suppose you'd have to have the stats of other GMs to figure out how good it is, but his draft record looks pretty good to me and so do his results. Feel free to post a list of GMs that haven't picked any busts.

If you won $20 million in the lottery, you'd complain that it wasn't 30. TT put together a team that lost an incredible amount of players to IR, yet had enough depth and talent to win the Superbowl.

Fact is the RBs from 2010 were good enough to win the Superbowl and so was the LT that was already on the team. I'm pretty sure they also took Bulaga with the idea he was the LT of the future. Even if he ends up being a RT, I have confidence that the LT of the future is already on the roster (Lang or Newhouse) or will be soon enough.

You are also correct. He did take Harrell, Brohm and Jackson in the first two rounds of his drafts for the Packers.

Here's his 1st and 2nd rounders since coming to GB.

2005:

Aaron Rodgers (pro bowler)

Nick Collins (pro bowler)

2006:

AJ Hawk (starter)

Daryn Colledge (starter)

Greg Jennings (pro bowler)

2007

Justin Harrell

Brandon Jackson

(This draft produced James Jones and Desmond Bishop)

2008

Jordy Nelson

Brian Brohm

Pat Lee

(This draft included Jermicheal Finley and Pro Bowl G Josh Sitton)

2009

BJ Raji (starter)

Clay Matthews (pro bowler)

2010

Bryan Bulaga (starter)

Mike Neal

14 players drafted in the first two rounds. So far 4 of them have been to the Pro Bowl. Four others are starters, and I'd say Raji is a likely addition to the pro bowl list. Mike Neal also looked VERY good before getting hurt. Very likely he'll be a starter as soon as next year.

So I'd say Thompson has 9 strong hits of the 14 choices in the first two rounds, and if you count Jordy Nelson as a solid player from the 2nd round, that makes 10. I think if you look throughout the history of the NFL draft, you'd have a hard time coming up with an organization that's drafted better.

Why do so many of you guys say hate when thinking people disagree with his picks?I count 7 starters in the first 2 rounds plus 3 sub players plus 3 players that are no longer on the team. 10 strong hits is a bit much.

My biggest problem with him is on the offensive line . When Clifton retires(he was the guy Sapp sent to the hospital when launching himself into him about 10 years ago.

I hope he trades up to find someone this year.

are you kidding me? thompson is best GM in the business. hands down. no questions asked. he has this team loaded with more young talent than any team ive seen in years. there is only 1 glaring weakness on this team and thats KR/PR, and to nitpick about places where we might be average is ludicrous. you must be one of the Anti-Ted guys from the favre-rodgers era trying to validate your hate for him. go find another team to root for. we dont want you, and neither do the packers

But his hits are pro bowlers and pro bowl caliber players not to mention his late round and free agent gems. Vegas has the Packers and Patriots as the preseason favorites for next years Superbowl so obviously Thompson has assembled some talent. It's time to celebrate a Super Bowl championship, not fret about the Packers lack of depth at left tackle.

:goodposting: Once again, 90% of NFL teams can only dream of drafting so well.I was a TT basher, but I was totally wrong. It's because of TT and his drafting that Green Bay had so much depth. Enough depth and goos players to win the Super Bowl. How anyone can deny that, is beyond me.
