Tell me about Baccarat / Mini Baccarat (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
I certainly don't have enough dough to play with the whales at the Big Boy Baccarat table. However, I understand that Mini Baccarat is basically the same game, but it's faster and the dealer is the only one to touch the cards.

So what's the play? Bet on the banker, despite the 5% commission? The 1% house edge otherwise seems reasonable.

Fun? Profitable? Waste of time? Non-Asians welcome?

Looks like you've seen a ton of info already.

Pai Gow Poker (and actual Pai Gow with the dominoes) are much more asian-dominated. But anyone with money is welcome of course :goodposting:

Don't bet on the tie - it's got a much worse vig than player or banker.

Black Jack has better odds and real decision-making.

Boring and little less than a flip of a coin. However, the odds are good relative to most casino games. Try it as a change of pace when bored and/or losing on BJ. Outside of avoiding tie which was addressed above, there is really no other advise anyone could possibly give.

Baccarats are good cigars. They are mild and they have a sweet cap. Good with coffee and they are reasonably priced.

If you need a fun cool-down game during your break from the poker tables, go with Pai-Gow Poker instead.

I've played with my old roommate a few times. I used a very simple system that won me small amounts of money each time. I used the force and would look in dealers eye before dealing and bet on myself or him/her depending on look. Use the force, its the best betting method with mini bac. Also, don't stay at table too long, my advice for any table game.

Still have not played this game. I tend to procrastinate.

One question. I understand that you have to pay the 5% commission on winning banker bets at the end of the shoe. What happens if you bust out and you don't have a dime on you when it's time to settle up? Will you be working the buffet for a few hours?

You'll just be paid 95% of your bet. Boring game. Really is just like playing flip a coin. No decision making.
