I'd like to hear some homer or those-in-the-know feedback on rookie TEN DB Cortland Finnegan.

On the FBGs depth charts, he's the third string safety. Player news says that he was drafted as a CB.

However, he's been putting up good tackle #s each week.

What is his outlook? Is he only playing dime/nickel/special teams? Any first team reps?

finnegan comes in as the 3rd cornerback when the team goes to nickel coverage. he does not back up either jones or hill at the starting cbs. he does not play safety for the titans.

Finnegan is an interesting player. Small school track star who was impressive enough in camp to win the nickel job. He's found an extra niche with the Titans, who frequently blitz him out of the slot. He's still pretty raw from a coverage standpoint and may never be a full time player, but his situational use make him worth monitoring in CB specific leagues.

Interesting to see how far this guy has come. I think he is heading to his first pro bowl. You got to love footballguys and the ability to mention budding stars long before anyone has a clue about them. Thanks!

Bumping to ask if there is anyway this guy does not make the probowl?

He is the biggest reason that this secondary is as good as it has been and he always gets the other teams top receivers.

I waited a while to draft DB and STOLE him late in the draft this year< # 2 DB in our system.

Definitely should be a pro bowl player and I think with the Titans success, he will
