Terrell Prior is LIGHTING it up (1 Viewer)

ISUDESTROYERS

I know its preseason but he has over 80 yards rushing and 1 TD and 2 Passing TD's to Criner. A guy to look out for in the years ahead for sure.

Thoughts?

has a lot of skills, took it on the chin coming out of college, got some nice upside for dynasty, not sure I see 2012 being his year. Good info, good thread, we need to discuss this guy.

I have been watching his development this past off season and I am interested in him. Unfortunately, I do not have room right now to stash him, but if he can get his pocket presence down and work on progressions, he has all kinds of physical ability to be a good one. He just needs to mature and develop as a passer.

We also need to remember he's playing against 2's and 3's. Detroit's first-team defense is nothing to write home about.

Pryor (not spelled Prior) is a great athlete and looks like a ####### blur outrunning all eleven of the Lions 3rd unit. He had a couple of nice TD's tonight, and won himself a roster spot tonight. But he's not an NFL QB and I don't think he'll ever be. He was playing against guys who won't make the league or barely make the practice squad. But the takeaway from tonight is his amazing athletisism. If he would switch to WR or TE, watch out because this guy is a weapon against any team's first unit defense in the open field.

His accuracy is atrocious. His footwork is even worse than that. He has no patience. If his primary receiver is covered, his first and only instinct is to take off and run rather than go through his progressions.

Not to mention, he's not getting into Harvard anytime soon.

Other than that, he's an intriguing prospect.

Not an NFL QB. I'll be delighted if he proves me wrong someday.
Yes. Super encouraged that he played well, but his practice performance has been up and down, and a few long bombs doesn't mean he can make the ordinary throws that QBs need to make in order to start in this league. Hey, it's great that he played well. It's better than the alternative. But in dynasty, I don't think you want to look more than two years ahead. I think Palmer is the guy through 2013, at least. There is no pressure on Pryor to play right away, I hope they have a package for him, and he can actually develop, so the situation for him is good, but I also think in the back of my mind that he was not drafted by this brain trust, will they be as likely to be patient with him? I'm not sure.

I think with quality development Pryor could be a great NFL QB, but I don't know that he's going to get that quality development in Oakland. Think of the prospects Oakland has had in the past and how they've faired. He certainly has superior physical ability though, that alone is enough for him to dominate against the 2's and 3's. I do hope that he comes along so that eventually we can someday see him doing the same against the 1s, and what a fantasy weapon he'd be then! Remember he is the same height yet even faster than Cam Newton. I just have my doubts about Oakland being a good fit for development.

In my opinion, Pryor didn't look any better fundamentally throwing the ball against the Lions than he did at Ohio State. He is a great athlete and can run, but unless he improves his fundamentals throwing the football, he will not be anything more than a 3rd string QB.

Last night's game is a perfect indication why preseason stats (by themselves) are meaningless.

JaMarcus Russell with speed.
