Terry Glenn Injury update (1 Viewer)

Haven't heard anything lately...he's on our wire...I plan to try to pick him up a couple weeks before it sounds like he could be back...

So the timetable was 4-6 weeks.... and although optimistic at first, it has been 4 weeks.

I'd like to grab him ahead of time, but thinking any news will be "2-3 weeks" and "wait n see".

I thought I heard 4-5 weeks after 9/23, which puts him about week 9, but that's just a vague recollection, and that stuff is never concrete, anyway.

I just checked the DS profile page for him....

date 9/14, ... having surgery on 9/13 (thursday am).

if you heard 4-5 post-9/23.... which yeah.... I remember hearing season-ending, potentially career ending.

some of us in a "playoff centric" leagues... have extra interest, given the Cowboys chances to go deep in the NFC.

He's hit the radar on CBS Sportsline - so I think if you want him before anyone else, now is the time to move - Week 9 sounds about right.

Glenn recovering, but inactive

Terry Glenn, WR DAL

News: For the fifth straight game to open the season, the Cowboys listed WR Terry Glenn as inactive Week 5 at the Bills. According to the Dallas Morning News, Glenn has started the rehab process after a second surgery on his right knee. He originally had a cyst removed in August and had cartilage removed later.

Analysis: Glenn is unlikely to return before the Cowboys' bye in Week 8, so wait at least a couple more games before thinking about grabbing him off the waiver wire. He could still prove a productive Fantasy WR this season, so keep an eye on his progress. The Cowboys host the Patriots in Week 6.

Please take your sweet time coming back, Terry. Make sure you are 100% before returning. Meanwhile, Witten will keep filling the gap! :goodposting:

that was 2 different surgeries, dude.he opted for the procedure that might get him back later this season.maybe it was 9/13 and not 9/23 on the procedure, though.

He will not be back until after the bye week 8. I remember the story going like this. I think he needs micro-fracture surgery. If he has that he is out all year and he wants to try and play this season. Cause he feels the Cowboys have a chance to go to the Super Bowl and he is getting up there in age so this may be his last hurray. By not having that micro-fracture surgery and coming back this year he could hurt the knee to the point where he is finished forever. He is willing to take that chance and go for it all this season . IMO this is his last season either way. If he does come back around week 10-12 and gets back to the form of the last 3 seasons for the Cowboys. Watch out cause he would bring yet another big time weapon for this already good offense. Come playoff time Dallas could have a huge upgrade and be even more dangerous. Cross your fingers Dallas fans cause Glenn makes huge difference.

This totally makes sense, if Glenn was looking at the long term, he would just go ahead with the micro-fracture surgery.I don't, however, like the idea of him returning mid-season (if he is even back that early) with Crayton filling in so well and taking strides in developing a chemistry with Romo. It just doesn't make sense to me from a team perspective creating a cohesive unit and then mixing it up. I see Glenn's reasoning, but I think the Cowboys would suffer him playing catch-up when Crayton is running at full speed and has more upside for their future.

I would gladly welcome Glenn back IF is he is 100% healthy! The Cowboys offense would just be that much better!!!

Even if he did the micro-fracture surgery at his age he may not ever make it back. He is going for it all this year and I hope he makes it back cause he is a underrated wr that is a huge part of the Cowboys offense and deserves a shot a the Super Bowl.

A few things to think about. He had this sugery so he could play. He didnt have this surgery so he could have another one after the season. He COULD have had microfracture surgery but opted for the smaller procedure. 2nd Dallas is a better team when he catches the deep ball. TO or Cayton dont give them the same thing. Crayton fantasy wise is doing great but Glenn would make the boys a better team... Its not always about you...

IMO he will play atleast 1 more year but if things go well, 3 wouldnt suprise me. He isnt as old as you think

He's 33. Check out Joe Horn's stats after 33. A speed WR whose 33 and now has a damaged wheel? :excited:

Paging Joey Galloway.......

Based on hearing the "microfracture" talk and all of the knee talk, it is sounding more and more like Glenn will never play again to me. Call it a bone-on-bone condition or just reoccurring knee swelling, but with the age of Glenn, I don't see him recovering and being able to contribute anything close to the level of the past few years.

Glenn is not a "Speed WR." He's an all around WR. The guy is a great athlete. And, as for when to pick him up... It was this week, for me.
