Terry Glenn (1 Viewer)

Has anyone heard any recent news on Terry Glenn? I wonder if he is scheduled to play again this year. I own Crayton in my keeper league, and trying to determine if I should try to get something for him now.

I am not asking for FF help, but just the status of Glenn.

thanks

I asked the same question about a week ago and got no replies. Its an infomation vaccum with respect to Gleen so I'm assuming his progress is slow.... Which is why I drop him last week... Hopefully some one else can provide some concrete info on this...

I don't have very recent information on him and I'm sure some will have to come out on him soon.

However, he is scheduled to return but not so much for the regular season but for the playoff run. Dallas is not rushing him back and I wouldn't count on Terry Glenn making any impact on this season's fantasy football.

As a fan of Dallas, I'm just hoping he makes it back in the lineup and has the ability to make a big play or two down the stretch. IF he comes back anywhere near what he is capable of, he just opens so much up over the middle for TO and Witten who already have space.

In your keeper/dynasty league, I don't view Glenn as a long term threat. Crayton should be pretty good for a few years to come so if you do choose to get rid of him, don't give him away because you're trying to make a Shark move because of the returning of T. Glenn.

Patrick Crayton has made an impact on the Dallas offense this year and he isn't just going to be pushed aside for an aging veteran.

This appeared in the Dallas News on 11/7 . . .

Glenn update: Terry Glenn, who had two surgeries in six weeks on his right knee during the preseason, has not started to run, but Phillips is hopeful the veteran receiver will be able to return.

"It'll speed up once he starts running," Phillips said.

But Phillips isn't sure if Glenn will be able to begin running next week. Glenn had hoped for a November return.

"I just know where he is now, and he's rehabbing," Phillips said. "They say he's coming along all right, but it's going to be a slow process."

Here's more news from a radio call-in show from 11/5:

Any updates on Terry Glenn's recovery? If he can't go at all this year, how will that affect his status for next season?

Calvin Watkins (Cowboys Beat Writer): Terry is about three to four weeks away from returning. It's a slow process. Terry had two knee operations since the start of training camp. When he hurt his knee the first time, he told the trainers he heard a pop. That's not good. Terry's status for next season is in serious doubt.

If that timetable holds up, that would get him back the beginning of December. That would be roughly the Cowboys 13th game. And to me at least who knows if by "back" means starting as the #2 wideout or if "back" means starting to workout with the team in the hopes of playing at some point later in the year.

Thanks for the advice.. much appreciated. Crayton is also a UFA next year, if I am not mistaken, so any info on whether he will be re-signed?

Consensus is building for an "attempt" at the Green Bay game. Failing that it will be after Thanksgiving as there's no reason to trot him out for the Jets game. This is just from monitoring the situation on the radio and papers here speculating. I don't think anyone has anything official even Glenn herself.

I would think that they would want to see Glenn in live action before throwing him to the wolves in an uber important game that could decide homefield for the playoffs. Not being on the right page and having no timing could easily result in an interception, and if he is sluggish health wise could result in him being shelved for the season. based on that, I would think they would probably prefer him coming back in a game when they wouldn't need him to do much, but that's just my opinion.

yeah i would guess that you'd WANT him to come back in a game like the Jets that is as close to an automatic W that you can get in the NFL

so if there are issues they don't cost you a game

if he comes back in a GB game i can't believe Romo would trust him and he'd probably just be a decoy

I think Crayton has done fine and wonder if Glenn will be done after this year in Dallas. i mean at some point they have to look to get younger at WR don't they? Owens and Glenn? It's the race to 35 or something.

Yes, that would seem logical, but I'm just relaying the feelings around town in the media here.
