Wife was a big fan back in the day of all 3 bands.

Can get general admission seats for 33 dollars, and thinking about taking our 11YO to his first concert.

Anyone heard any reviews?

Wow that is quite the trio of dad rock bands there.
 it is, the wife & I are taking our 16 year old daughter and one of her friends to see the same Trio next Thursday :excited: Just saw Tesla about a year and half ago and they still sound great.

Still like Tesla even if Jeff Keith is like some unholy amalgamation between Steven Tyler and Axl Rose. The only hair band that got an unfair bad rap as a hair band.

"Hey Dad, what does he mean about being hot sticky and sweet from his head to his feet? That's sounds kinda pervy coming from that old fat guy on stage."

I'd take my kids to that show, if only for the Tesla portion. not a big fan of Def Leppard post-Pyromania.

I took my 10 and 9 year olds to see Imagine Dragons a month or so ago for their first concert. they had a blast.

Saw the Holmdel, NJ show about a month back. Solid rock show - took a 15 yr. old who loves DL, could care less about the other two bands, but didn't hate them so much that he was on the phone the entire time. But he liked the Foo/Royal Blood show much better.

Tesla first, then Styx, then DL to close. Jeff Keith of Tesla still has great vocal chops, but they only play about 8 songs. Styx (honestly, I am not a big fan) had a decent set, again about 8-10 songs. DL has a set that only varies by one song night after night. Band still sounds awesome; Joe Elliott has slipped "a little", but not so much where I would not recommend the show.

Set list at this link for DL, links on that page for Tesla and Styx set lists as well - same as my Holmdel, NJ show a week later.

Tesla was one of the most underrated band of the entire metal era. Amazing guitar band.

No idea how they sound now. I wouldn't pay money to go see many of the bands I listened to in high school, I would still pay to check out Tesla.

Considering he was never good live that doesn't sound promising.

This isn't exactly fair... at worst, Joe Elliott's voice is inconsistent these days... some good nights and some bad ones. He sounded the best I've ever heard him in Vegas just 2 years ago. Elliott's about on par with just about any other singer his age for this type of music. Guys like Sammy Hagar and Jeff Keith are the extreme exceptions to the rule. But like someone else said above, the rest of the band sounds as tight as ever.

Def Leppard's Hysteria (album and song) is a masterpiece, production-wise.

Good production but over rated album IMO. Don't get me wrong I liked the album but it was a little too commercial for my taste. I'll take High n Dry over Hysteria any day.
Agreed. Hysteria doesn't touch Pyromania or High and Dry. I really like half the Hysteria album. The best song IMO is "Gods of War". I can't listen to "Pour Some Sugar on Me" anymore.......they overplayed that song to death.

Elliott sounds better than he did about three tours ago and on par with the previous two tours.

First time I hung out at my best friend from college's apartment, walked in, he had one of those 5 foot lamps with the cd shelves all the way up right near the door. I can't remember exactly what I said when I saw it was all DL CDs including bootlegs (really 90's not so much internet), but he always can... Something along the lines of "How can one person own this much horrible music?". Funny thing is, I didn't hate DL, and actually Pyromania was one of the first cassette tapes I ever owned, but looking back I may have been a pre-internet troll.

Sorry, a bit off topic, but I don't get many opportunities to share that DL story anymore.
