Wow, that was a surprise. Is this good news for DD? I sure hope so.
nah, davis's condition is whatever it is. it is good news for lundy, though. (sort of -- it just confirms what we already knew -- that he's the guy, with morency getting some work too)

Smith had a good last night and then gets released
I think they were trying to be nice and feature him so he could showcase himself and get a job somewhere else.
I think he was a warm body whom they'd already paid handsomely for to do very little who could carry the football in a meaningless preseason game so no one they really cared about could possibly suffer an injury at this point. He was to football what a washed up vet innings eater is to baseball. Now THAT'S good presesason, mmmmmmmmm tasty................

Going on the past record of management decisions by this franchise, I'm guessing they cut Antwoin because they have first dibs on the waiver wire and wanted to nab a guy they know would be familiar in their offense.

always possible he could be picked back up after week 1 if he is'nt picked up by someone else by then.

No, that means they like Chris Taylor better than A. Smith. Smith will end up in Miami as a back up, if he still wants to play.

I could see the Saints taking a chance on Cowart as MLB.

As for Smith, a team like Miami, SF, or even TN (if Brown or Henry are traded)

FWIW, on my ride home from work Sports Radio 610 here in Houston was saying it's almost a certainty that Davis goes on IR here in the next day or two to get the Texans to the 53 man roster requirement.

They also said the Texans will be looking hard at the waiver wire for LB'ers and then linemen on both sides of the ball. Kailee Wong will likely remain on the PUP list as they still think he could come back later this season.
