Moulds, Part DeuxI can't figure out why they did not go after Antonio Bryant. He would stretch the field and allow Johnson to continue to rack up the receptions.
Not a single team has gone after Bryant this offseason, that should be pretty telling.Moulds, Part DeuxI can't figure out why they did not go after Antonio Bryant. He would stretch the field and allow Johnson to continue to rack up the receptions.
That may be because he is suspended, and if they sign him now, his contract is guaranteed all season, whereas if you wait until after week one, there is nothing guaranteed if he gets cut.Not a single team has gone after Bryant this offseason, that should be pretty telling.Moulds, Part DeuxI can't figure out why they did not go after Antonio Bryant. The Texans place more value on "character" than almost any other team in the team. Without a severe about face, a guy like Bryant is not even on their radar. I heard from some insider (no link, so FWIW) that they take more players off their draft and FA boards than anyone in league.Moulds, Part DeuxI can't figure out why they did not go after Antonio Bryant. Huh? Who?not too excited here....wonder if he steals alot of Ownes' balls.
It will certainly be Walter or Jones - and I think that will depend on Jones more than Walter. I think I read a piece about Walter a few days ago concerning the lack of experience at WR2 with some coach saying good things about Walter. What a letdown this must be for him. This negates all value, if any, for Kevin Walter. Look for McCardell to start this year with Jacoby Jones taking over mid-season or next year.
True, it does go to game by game paychecks so maybe he finds his way to a practice squad somewhere. Even so, it still speaks volumes about how poorly teams look at him if no one's willing to spend more than a waiver wire pickup. It's Rotoworld, not Rotowire (two separate organizations), and Rotoworld is quoting a Washington Post article so if someone's wrong it's the Post writer. My belief, even if true, is that 37 year old McCardell isn't taking a starting job away from anybody. He'll be a role player. There's little point in pushing aside younger guys so he can start, given his declining skills and the fact that the team is not a legit contender. McCardell is not the same receiver he was even a couple of years ago. His legs are gone. Very similar to the Moulds situation in terms of declining ability, and again that says to me he won't be a starter.I haven't seen this anywhere else and Rotowire has been known to be rotowrong. Is there any conformation on this?
I mistyped Rotowire. I meant Rotoworld, whom of which on several occasions I have caught posting incorrect information. Buyer beware - though I doubt anyone is running to the waiver wire on this one. It's Rotoworld, not Rotowire (two separate organizations), and Rotoworld is quoting a Washington Post article so if someone's wrong it's the Post writer. My belief, even if true, is that 37 year old McCardell isn't taking a starting job away from anybody. John Clayton's blog said McCardell is talking with the Dolphins and Redskins along with the Texans and that reports of the deal with Houston were premature.I haven't seen this anywhere else and Rotowire has been known to be rotowrong. Is there any conformation on this?
McCardell has been on the decline for a while now and ould not even help much in SD last year when they had very little at WR. This is only a stop gap for Houston and unless they really surprise, it will only hold back Walter/Jones.I still think McCardell is a solid #2 on any NFL team. If he's healthy can you say "Galloway." Cuz he has the ability to put up #'s even at 37.
I actually thought the Moulds move worked pretty well for Houston last year. He was 2nd on the team in catches with 57 for over 550 yards. With only 1 TD, he didn't help fantasy owners , but I think he did what the Texans needed him to do.This will work in all the ways that signing Moulds didn't...![]()

i'll take anything at this point
DE-NIED
Just heard on Sirius that McCardell has officially denied the USA Today (?) article that he signed with Houston. That can't be good for someone. Who? I have no idea...but I'm sure someone is getting slapped on the wrist.
Here is a link to back that up:http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Mc...n?urn=nfl,40207It worked so well, in fact, that they released him...er...I actually thought the Moulds move worked pretty well for Houston last year. true they released him but I think he had a sizable contract. That just confirms it. Andre Johnson will be a top5 WR this season.

That explains why they suck so bad then.......they need some bad boys. The Texans place more value on "character" than almost any other team in the team.
