Text Message Updates for YOUR Players (1 Viewer)

Is there a service that sends you a text message for each of your fantasy players. For example, if Arian Foster has a 33 yard run you get a text message. I know ESPN Go has something, but isn't that just an overall game update?

Is there any individual text updates out there?

I"ll go out on a limb and say the average serious FF player is involved in 3 leagues.

Do we really want a text every time any of those players breaks a decent play? No. Especially when most of us are tracking our teams via Mobile Web, or actual Websites.... or we just dont care :lmao:

Of course... I'm only speaking for myself and some others might enjoy receiving 100ish texts per hour between the hours of 1pm Sun and 7pm Sun

I do believe it would be too much because all the text updates I get from the twitter guys about injuries and what not are plenty to handle as it is.

I could see a need for a service that lets you customize what texts you get for certain game events. For example, if you're in ten leagues, but one is a money league you care more about than the rest, you can just set up texts for the one league, and turn the other leagues on or off as you wish. Or, you could set up texts for every time one of your players scores fantasy points (yeesh), or just when they score touchdowns, or say only when they score 5 FP's or more.

(Speaking of Twitter, who do you guys like to follow for injury updates on Sundays?)

How would this be useful?
I'd like to get random updates via text. I'm at every Bears home game. If I could get a score update for my leagues at some random intervals, it would be great. Say when all noon games have hit half time, then when all noon games end. Same for 3:00 games, half time and final.Instead, I have to try and get a data feed among 50,000 other cell phone users, open the link for each league and each scoreboard for 4 different leaguesIt's a pain in the ###. I'd much rather get 4 text messages, one per league, than go through all of that. Wouldn't you?

No. I would just wait until I got home.

MFL does this. Now that I think about it, I didn't get any texts last Sunday. But, I have the last couple years. Definitely nice to have when attending games.I would think some service could be made available where you can go online, pick some players you want to know about, pick the frequency of texts, and give them your number. So, sure, you may be in 10 leagues and don't want all those updates, but it doesn't have to be all or nothing. This hypothetical site would neither know nor care who is on your teams; they'll just send you texts for whoever you choose.

If you have a league waiver wire that is always open I could see some value in getting injury updates. My league's WW is closed from 10:00am Sunday until 12:01am Tuesday, so there is not really any urgency to get that info. But stats updates? Come on, take a deep breath and enjoy the experience of the game you are paying to attend.

Well isn't the NFL requiring all stadiums to show fantasy stats live?

Yes, but that won't necessarily provide me what I want. I care about my players. How are the stadium updates going to know what I want to see?

I received all the text scoring updates from MFL. Might want to check your franchise set up and make sure your cell number is confirmed and your option to have those sent is checked on.
