I'm thoroughly convinced that the marketing people and producers know what they're doing. Those networks have a lot of shows with hot hostesses. They must know a large fraction of their demographic is men who have to watch TV with their SOs on Saturday mornings.This group watches alot of HGTV, Food Network, Discovery Home and DIY.

She's not in a league with some of these other sex kittens, but Alpana Singh hosts a Chicago restaurant review show called "Check Please" on WTTW. Very elegant & beautiful lady who knows a lot about food and wine.

Something should be said for the Disney lineup as a whole. Just like Food/HGTV/DIY they know exactly what they are doing, and "get it." My son's TV is preset to come on to Playhouse Disney (another thread in the making) in the mornings, and when I turn it on for him on the rare weeknight evening he can watch a DVD, I find myself staring at Zack & Cody or Hannah Montana or a number of other shows that seem to just suck you in for a min. The barely legal hotties have a lot to do with it.

I saw one episode of What Not To Wear where they were doing a makeover of some tall blonde who was wearing her mother's old clothes and was really into RPGs and Xena. She ended up being smoking hot after the makeover. I dare say even hotter than the hostess. Anyone else remember that one?
