A good lesson in "We reap what we sow."

:goodposting:

$1.53 yesterday at Kroger

They gave me some customer loyalty bonus in my fuel points. Ended up with .80 off.

Filled up the wife...and then her minivan for $.73/gal. Nice to fill that thing for around $10.

Why does he want to ruin it for everyone?
Two problems with his idea:

- fuel isn't the only use of oil

- we have a gas tax and a higher one would be easier to pass since the current one hasn't been raised since 1993.
3. Ordinary people rich and poor will pay for it at the pump.
Long-term this benefits the poor.
'Hey buddy, I just took 10 bucks out your wallet.... but whoah, look long term this really benefits you.'

Jesus... gonna dip below 2$ across all Californian metros.
Damn, I saw it go up 10 cents. Probably because Ted Cruz won that primary. :yucky:
Still hovering around $2.65 in my hood
$1.67 here. I can buy weed legally if I choose. Great craft beer scene, killer job market, good public schools and unbelievable recreation opportunities in my back yard. This part of the country is doing pretty dang good.

If long-term term that 10 bucks save you 100 then isn't it worth it?

The White House said the oil-fee proposal would invest an additional $20 billion per year to cut traffic and "provide new ways for families to get to work and school." It would also put about $10 billion per year into regional travel systems and another $2 billion annually into clean transportation research.
Public transportation and cheaper oil (from less demand) both benefit the poor.

Cstu I feel sometimes I share a common idealism with you but let me say this:

New Orleans will never have decent public transportation. We don't even have flat streets. It's like some other planet you're talking about.

Greatest president of all time. Paid off my mortgage and made gas cheaper singlehandedly.
It's going to take a lot of really cheap gas for me to offset my 401k losses, but I guess as long as I'm working to 80 with cheap gas...it's all good!!!

OMG the sky is falling in Oklahoma in Texas gas prices in the 1.30 range. ####### socialist policies. We neead gas back at 4 and 5 bucks a gallon to 'Merica strong AGAIN!

EDIT TO ADD:

1.11 in Tulsa

"“Believe me, if I thought there was any evidence at all that drilling could save people money … by this summer or this year or even the next few years, I would consider it. But it won’t.” Barack Obama

"“What I will not do, and this has always been my position, is to support a plan that suggests this drilling is the answer to our energy problems. … It won't drop prices in this administration or in the next administration or in the administration after that.” (CNN, 8/2/08)

"“Anyone who tells you we can drill our way out of this problem doesn't know what they're talking about, or isn't telling you the truth.” (Reuters, 3/1/12)

Jim11 is really Obama?
