But I don’t think I’m being in pedantic in pointing out “Memorial Day is ... a time to remember the folks that have served our country” misses the mark. We have a day set aside for that occasion on - November 11, Veterans Day. It is a bit irksome when people conflate the two.
Memorial Day is specifically to honor those who died while in service our country.
But again, thank you for making the effort to give honor where honor is due. I’m grateful to live in a country where we are recognized often for our contributions to maintaining our way of life.
Those who gave all deserve their own day, as a sign of the elevated level of respect and honor due to them.
