Thanks to top 200 my season is shot (1 Viewer)

I wish I had this ham-and-egger in my league. In my league(s), this guy would have been laughed outta the room when he took Buck. Apparently this guy is too busy to turn on a sports radio channel while he is in transit between his oh-so-busy events. I'm sure we are dealing with a REAL diehard sportsfan here......

I'm a true football fan. I like educating people on the sport and watching them grow to understand and enjoy it.
The whiny kid doesn't want to learn, he wants someone to do it for him. I think this is a big problem with kids today.
The only facts we have to support that are that he complained because he paid money for a service that he did not feel was up to par.Do you do it all your self? The answer is No, it has to be. No one here has the ability to scout all the teams and fly around the country. We as members of this board are using each other as sounding boards for ideas and there is no problem with that. Although, my main research tool is the blogger, NFL team sites, and ESPN sites. In order to get Kids more involved in the hobby why not be more patient and helful instead of turning on him so quickly.SoapBoxWhiny kids today need mentors to teach them how to live a true and good life. Being active in your community is the best way to do that. I personally get involved with kids in my son's youth football league. My parents taught me that you earn what you have in life and that the richest rewards come back through youth programs in your local church, sports league, etc. The second biggest reward comes with the giving of time in local charities such as the Cancer foundations, heart foundations, etc. If you are truly tired of Whiny kids take a hand in shaping there futures.

Big Ups to J Maddi! This thread has now absorbed more official hits than Mike Pittman's wife.

I'm a die hard sports fan who checks Blogger, NFL, ESPN, this forum once every 3-4 days as I have time like tonight. Generally in route from one place to the other I'm talking football or gymnastics with my son (mostly football since I know squat about gymnastics) or Cheerleading and gymnastics with my daughter. IF these topics are not up then we discuss the school work they are responsible for. Between 4 football practices a week for my son and work I don't have time to keep up with sports daily. On weekends my son doesn't have football I will be diving or riding.I know this weekend I'll be going in blind since I'll barely catch a peep of sports before my main leagues draft. But I'd rather coach my son's team on Thur, Fri and Saturdays game versus wasting time on catching up with Fantasy info. The true sports fan is involved in the sports they like in other ways versus sitting on the couch. I also know my league mates will not try and screw me over. I'll probably have 2-3 TRUTHFULL updates on the second I walk in the draft room and injury updates.

While I agree that some of the responses to JMaddi have been a little....robust, the attitude of the original post kind of set him up for it (rightly or wrongly). Several of us have posted suggestions on how he may be able to improve his team. His season is far from being lost, IMO.It's also obvious that he didn't draft straight from the Top 200 list. As many have pointed out, his team would look different if he followed it to the letter (which would have been a mistake anyway without accounting for his league's rules). On top of that, it's never been a secret that the Top 200 isn't updated daily. FBGs didn't fall down on the job or promise something they didn't deliver with the Top 200 list. Also, as Drugrunner said, there were updated cheatsheets available on the main page.I think what happened was that the guy was frazzled, grabbed the Top 200 without paying any attention to dates or doing any crosschecking, & got embarrassed at his draft when he selected Buckhalter.

You lost a fifth round pick to injury and you are this upset?

Imagine how Mike Shreman feels after wasting a 3rd round pick on a healthy punter that won't make the team. I wonder if there is a message board for NFL GM's to complain about their picks and blame someone else. I can just see it now.

Sign-on: SHERMINATOR: I didn't have time to check out all the films and talk to my college scouts, so the morning of the draft I paid for Mel Kipper's top 200 listing. I knew I needed a punter so I traded up to get BJ Sander because Mel said he was the best punter out there. Now the kid can't even punt the ball 25 yards and he will get cut. My season is shot.

:rotflmao:

By the way nice pick Mike.

Thanks for manning up on the refund offer. I am sending you an email too about something else. Here are the players I drafted in order: Rudi Johnson, Harrison, Gonzalez, Chambers, Buckhalter, Minor, Brady, Garcia, Northcutt, Dayne, Carr, Glenn, Witten, Vinatieri, Richie Anderson, Rams, Jay Feely, Corey Bradford. As you can see I thought I was fine at RB. Now I probably have to trade off Harrison to get another RB whose not on IR or lost their job. If the info had been correct I would have had a stacked team instead of an inbox full of trade offers for Harrison. That's why having one bad pick due to bad information can ruin a draft.
Heck, I'll take a stab at working out a team improvement strategy. I will assume a starting lineup of QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, K, D. If you start 2 QBs, have a flex position, or something like that, let me know.Let's lay out your roster to make it easier to read:T BradyJ GarciaD CarrJ FeelyR JohnsonC BuckhalterT MinorR DayneR AndersonM HarrisonC ChambersD NorthcuttT GlennC BradfordT GonzalesJ WittenA ViniateriSt Louis Defense.................................Feely, Bradford, and Buckhalter are the obvious deadwood here.
Am I the only one here who is reading his drafting of Jay Feely as JAY FEELY, kicker for the Falcons?

Obviously no one is getting the point.I've got LOTS OF STUFF going on in my life right now and I can't focus on stats and news like I usually do. Moving, school, 2 jobs, travel barely making it to the draft on time I trusted top 200 could at least get me through the draft with some good value picks not screw up my season. So I guess FBG can do no wrong. What a waste of time to even complain.
 You sound very busy. Who chews your food for you these days, Mister Too-Busy-To-Bother?:choke: :yucky:

To answer your question there's 10 teams and I had to pick last since I held up the draft for 30 minutes.I don't understand if Buckhalter was not the starter why was he so high up there on the top 200?For all the comments posted I am not a FF newbie. This is my thrid year and like I said things are just really hectic the past 2 weeks.
Hey Maddi,Did you ask your mom if it was O.K. to go to the draft ?
