Finally started watching this series, and it's a lot of fun. I don't care about hair metal, but they have a wide variety of guests every episode.
Any fans here?

I never watch live TV anymore, but if you search for it on your DVR, they are running re-runs every day. When does this come on? I'll have to check it out.
Hair metal's terrible. But the show does have it's fair share of hardcore guests. Dudes I've seen so far on the showNot a fan of hair metal. I often flip around to it - will stop if it's a guest I'm interested in. Also like "Stump The Trunk".
Yeah, I posted that clip in another thread awhile back. The same episode had Sam Dunn, who did the great Metal Evolution series.I often flip around to it - will stop if it's a guest I'm interested in. Also like "Stump The Trunk".I also enjoy his rants about the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame - which is a total sham, nonsense organization.

I agree with everything that you said, but I do like that there's a show devoted to metal. I'll gladly fast forward past Sebastian Bach to get to Scott Ian.It's ok.I preferred the Sam Dunn stuff.Metal a headbangers journey, metal evolution. Beyond the lighted stage and the lemmy special. There is a mroe "retro hard rock" and glam/hair metal vibe to the show.
It's cool with me. I like the top 5 segment. But to me they blew it with the concept album top5, no mastodon? LOLWhen Metal evolution was going I'd try to have the kids in bed by 10 to watch that and that metal show b2bI agree with everything that you said, but I do like that there's a show devoted to metal. I think it might be better without Eddie trunk. That Metal Evolution series was outstanding.Yeah, I posted that clip in another thread awhile back. The same episode had Sam Dunn, who did the great Metal Evolution series.I often flip around to it - will stop if it's a guest I'm interested in. I was sad to see it end. As for TMS, I used to make a point of catching every episode a season or two ago but it's almost like it has become a parody of itself. The chick in the leather, the guitar wankery from the weekly guest heading to commercial and the top 5 thing they do... it doesn't work for me. I haven't really watched it at all this season.
Seconded. I can handle him in small doses, but he's toxic as a full-time host.I think it might be better without Eddie trunk. That Metal Evolution series was outstanding.Yeah, I posted that clip in another thread awhile back. The same episode had Sam Dunn, who did the great Metal Evolution series.I often flip around to it - will stop if it's a guest I'm interested in. Yeah, the Mastodon exclusion doesn't surprise me. Eddie Trunk doesn't like hardcore or new metal, and VH1 Classic encourages the show to promote classic metal over new metal. It's cool with me. So no season 2 of Metal Evolution? He could cover the really small non-mainstream metal parts of the tree, like death metal and stoner metal etc. but IMO there just isnt enuff there. So no season 2 of Metal Evolution? LOLI know UFO sucks Eddie, get over iti DVD every episode and scan through it. i don't like the guitarist either. or UFO.

KISS sucks, too.LOLI know UFO sucks Eddie, get over iti DVD every episode and scan through it. i don't like the guitarist either. or UFO.
Dvr the show. I really like it. Eddie has a lot of knowledge for all the sub genres of metal but the classic metal/hard rock is his wheelhouse. Eddie does most of the guest booking but it does have to fall into the confines of what vh1 classic wants. He gads also stated that for all the guests that haven't been on they have been asked but either cant fit the taping into their schedule or don't want to do it. New season starts, I think, the last Saturday of march.
Funny how it goes. I was (and still am) big into metal, but they occasionally mention bands I've never heard. Riot's one of the bands. The UFO and Kiss worship is ridiculous but they're right about one thing ... Riot's Fire Down Under album is amazing and criminally underrated.
My wife's cousin was their drummer. He also played with Ace Frehley for a time.Funny how it goes. I was (and still am) big into metal, but they occasionally mention bands I've never heard. I like Eddie - seems to be a genuinely nice guy, but lamely tries to be a badass sometimes. Still prefer him to Jamieson and Florentine, who are pretty much complete tools.Eddie's a good counter-balance to the other two guys who add color to the show, but don't seem to be as into it
I agree with this, especially since the two minutes I caught of this season involved their Top 5 new metal bands... Florentine had bands that are at least 10 years old and Jamieson listed his own band.I like Eddie - seems to be a genuinely nice guy, but lamely tries to be a badass sometimes. Are you a guitarist? That's one of my favorite partsCan't stand the guest guitar segment
To me, my favorite bands are about the music. For example, when I saw Motley Crue live around 1984, they rocked my ### off. But once they started singing power ballads and looking like women, it was more about image. This is why I was never a Kiss fan. I understand Kiss' importance to the image of metal, but their music just isn't very good.Hair metal's terrible.![]()

kinda showed how far out of touch with his genre Lars is. he had a hard time coming up with 4 thrash bands off the top of his head.yeah the show has run its course. And IMO the next big 4 in thrash metal is:1 - Testament2 - Exodus3 - Death Angel4 - ForbiddenOverkill sucks
I wish Scott Ian would just take the place of Florentine or Jamieson entirely, and have another guy in the 3rd spot. Maybe Alice Cooper - could be a show about old-school and new-school metal.I'd be down with just having Scott Ian on every week.
Laaz Rockit?Agree with your top three, there's a bit of a dropoff after them, I might go with Venom just for shtick

TestamentExodusDeath AngelPanterabut you could sub Sepultura, Flotsam and Jetsam, Death, Napalm Death or Nuclear Assault in the fourth position and I would be fine but not Overkillyeah the show has run its course. And IMO the next big 4 in thrash metal is:1 - Testament2 - Exodus3 - Death Angel4 - ForbiddenOverkill sucks
