The 2022 NFL Draft Thread (2 Viewers)

This year’s open ended feeling won’t top last  year’s qb draft drama for me. But being new to dynasty, there’s more intrigue for the landing spots of the “skill position” players.

There is no way the Chiefs stay put with those two first round picks at the end of the first. I could see them trading up.

The Athletic's Connor Hughes reports there is "a lot — a lot — of chatter" about Cincinnati CB Sauce Gardner being drafted by the Jets.

The cornerback-needy Jets own the No. 4 and 10 picks. There has been buzz LSU's Derek Stingley could end up the first cornerback off the board, but Gardner was the most commonly predicted top corner for most of the offseason. Hughes reports the Gardner-to-Jets talk has been late breaking over the past 1-2 weeks. We will know soon enough.

: A look at the teams making the most noise about trading up (#Eagles, #Ravens, among others), what they might move up for... and then, will a RB go in the first round?

Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson reports Florida State edge rusher Jermaine Johnson could go as high as No. 4 to the Jets.

Wilson reports Johnson has been experiencing a "meteoric rise" in his stock. The Jets were amongst Johnson's pre-draft visits, though we know that doesn't mean very much. The Jets continue to be linked to defense at No. 4, with a receiver seeming more likely for their second first-round selection at No. 10.

Oregon EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux's odds on PointsBet sit at -125 for under pick 4.5.

The discourse around Thibodeaux's (6'5/250) draft stock seems to have hit a more positive note as of late. After some speculations arose that he would be drafted closer to the top-10, his odds to go under pick 4.5 are slightly better than the over 4.5, which sits at -106. Thibodeaux put together an impressive body of work during his time at Oregon, and showed well at the Combine and pro day. His draft stock plummeting seems to be more about narrative than performance. Once favored as the No.1 overall pick, Thibodeaux should still land in the top-5 in tonight's draft.

The best part about tonight is when a team enrages its fan base with a controversial pick, and then said fans lay into the team, but then begin the process of talking themselves into the pick, and by night's end vehemently attacking everyone who says it's a questionable choice.

saw this young man on AGT.   very inspiring.

edit: Espn coverage.  Kodi Lee on the piano and sang, blind and autistic.

Calling Matt Corrall as the 2nd QB off the board.  Surest path to a Kirk Cousins career trajectory, and for a tightly bunched group of QBs, a first name of "Matt" is the obvious tiebreaker.

FOX NFL's Jay Glazer reports the Chiefs "are trying" to trade up in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Glazer responded to a question on Twitter regarding the Chiefs trading up by saying, "They are trying. Even offering up next year’s 1 but that’s still like a 2." The Chiefs' biggest need in the draft is at wide receiver and it's possible that all of the top options are gone by the time they make their first selection. Kansas City holds the No. 29 and No. 30 picks. Chiefs GM Brett Veach has said that his team has, at most, 18 players with a first-round grade this year. That means, if a trade happens at all, the Chiefs would likely want to move into the top 20 picks of the draft.

Wut

this is the NFL draft topic. Where people talk about the picks.

Are you waiting for the picks to come in by carrier pigeon?

On TV.

This is nothing new.  It's been a gentleman's agreement in this thread every year that we wait until it's on TV, and don't share the twitter spoilers where they announce the pick on twitter ahead of TV.
