The Adrian Peterson Hype (1 Viewer)

It is really getting old that people are still looking for ways to take away from what AP is doing. The dude is a stud. Period. Get over the fact that you did not draft him.
I think you're missing the point....OP is arguing that you're taking away from what the o-line is doing.

I just loved that in the beginning of October I traded to get him! Love it!I traded Willie Parker/Deion Branch for Brett Favre/ADP! I love it.
I have been getting a lot of offers in one of my main dynasty leagues. Latest offer (after this week) was Brady, Willie Parker, and Crumpler for ADP, Jennings, and Cutler.I think I'll be sticking with Adrian

Take away the 2 games where he had 520 yards, he's barely getting 80 yards a game. That's not that great.

I drafted him at pick #33 then got cold feet leading up to the season opener because of splitting time with Taylor. So I tried HARD to trade him for guys like Parker, Rudi, etc. that had clear #1 RB situations. Every one of those guys that passed on my trades must regret it. I wouldn't even trade him straight-up for LT right now in a re-draft.

I know you're probably just playing devil's advocate, but in fairness he hasn't really been the starter all year and has, for better or worse, been splitting carries. Even excluding his two monster games, he's still averaging nearly 4.8 yards per carry. If you also take his one worst game against Detroit which he went 20 for 66, he's averaging over 5.1 ypc. Just saying...

In one dynasty I made a collossal mistake and passed on him for Portis. I wasn't thinking, didn't realize at first that rookies were in the draft pool, and Portis was the next highest guy on my list. Ooops.

Not even, just being sarcastic. I was taking to the extreme the usual SP logic that if you take away so-and-so's 50 yard TD run, he didn't have a good game.

I did the exact same thing in a keep 3 league. And in a keep 2 league I took Jacobs over AD even though I had AD ranked higher :smack:The one league I have him in is re-draft.

Show me a good running back that doesn't have a good offensive line. Look at San Diego ... Is Michael Turner great? I promise you he would not Average 6 yards per carry on another team.Look at LJ and SJ ...When their line was great they were great when their line sucked so did they. It's what peterson does after he gets through the hole that makes makes him great. The Oline doesn't run 20, 40 or 70 yards down the field along side of Peterson.
You seem to forget the Charger's team that LT ran on near the beginning of his career. And Detroit's O-Line when Sanders was around was hardly something to write home about. Yes, there are a few RB's that can succeed despite what their O-line is doing. Those guys are in the HOF or will be at some point (LT). And yes, AP is following in the same footsteps. The O-line he's running behind only makes what he can do even better. That's what is scary.
LT averaged 3.6 yds per carry his first year with SD

And his next year in 2002? 2003? Even 2004? No, SD was not good those years nor did they have any semblance of an O-line.
