Just recently I've had a problem where when I try to talk on my iPhone, the sensor isn't reading that the phone is to my face. I usually end up hanging up on the person or pressing a hundred numbers or something. Is this a known problem? And if so, is there a fix?

Run a backup of your iPhone in iTunes, restore back to factory defaults, upgrade if necessary, and restore from the backup you just made.

Got an invitation to install Yosemite Beta on my iMac. They posted something the other day about giving it out to the first XXX who 'registered.' Has anyone done this? Does it work well? Would hate to install it and have it wreck everything and have to redo all my data!

So my wife was on the iphone while I was still in blackberry land. This weekend she turns to me and says, "I'm done with iphone get me an android". I would have more expected her to say she wanted to roll brown dots every time.

She's now on a galaxy and loves it. Only thing she misses is imessage functionality so far. I've replaced all her core functions with equal or better functionality.

Virtually the entire universe is indicating the 4.7" is the only option that will be coming out this year. The bigger one has too many issues.

All the "insiders" are in nearly 100% agreement that this announcement will be for the 4.7" model and nothing else is getting a refresh. The bigger one is not ready.

they are offering a $25 bonus if your phone is unlocked.

last time I upgraded, I sold my iphone4 16gb for $200 (what it cost me with a contract) so I bought the iphone 5 32gb for $300 when it came out a couple years ago.

now, they offered me $200 for my phone and would have offered $195 for the 16gb version. Crazy that the $100 I spent on extra memory was only worth $5 in resale value.

I don't think anyone cares what OS you're running. They wipe them back to factory settings IIRC.

Gazelle is frequently 40% off market rates. They really really low ball you for the very newest stuff compared to craigslist.

Email question. An annoying customer always requests a read receipt when you open her email. On my laptop in Outlook it asks me if I want to send a receipt and I always click no. When reading emails through my iPhone 5 via the mail feature (fully synched with Outlook) it does not ask me this question. Does it by default either always send a receipt or never send a receipt? If it always sends a receipt is there a setting to disable this? Don't want to give her the satisfaction of a read receipt .

I follow the rumor stuff too. I just want to hold it in my hand. I'm onboard with Jobs when he said you can reach all areas with one hand. I like that. But I also remember reading about a curved iPhone rumor that will make it easier to use with one hand, even though it's bigger. One hand use isn't a deal breaker for me.

I think odds of a curved phone are pretty much nil.

These days with all the accessory manufacturers required to have crap ready for launch, the form factor leaks are pretty spot on. "Surprises" in functionality are also pretty unlikely but a bit easier to sneak in under the radar.

i think it's only the USB side. they aren't changing the lightning cable connector, at least i hope not.

I don't see why the USB thing is such a big issue. Take care of your stuff when plugging it in. Never had an issue that a simple 180 degree turn couldn't fix.

i think it's only the USB side. they aren't changing the lightning cable connector, at least i hope not.

Correct, just making the USB universal so there's no wrong way to connect it into the port.

Rumour says it will have the latest LTE chip in it which is 50% faster than the one in the 5s.

Possible sapphire glass for a virtually unscratchable screen

Improved camera as well.

It's a slam dunk upgrade for me since I have a 4s right now.

Went in this morning to an Apple Store to get the replacement. The performed a diagnostic and determined that the battery did need to be replaced. They take it in the back and tell me to come back in 30 minutes. When I get back, they tell me that someone from the back will be there to talk to me about my phone. Oh no...

There is a tab on the battery that they tore off and are now unable to get the battery out. They have to send the phone offsite for the repair now. They gave me a loaner phone while they have my phone.

Went in yesterday, they had it done in 30 minutes, and so far today I'm still at 96% since unplugging it 4 hours ago and using it as I normally do. So now everything's great...just in time to replace it in a month or so with the 6!

What a crock of ####. My iPhone 5 doesn't qualify, nor does my wife's. My battery life is atrocious. I cannot make it through 1 day without charging and I have a Mophie case to boot. The battery life is far worse than my previous 4s. Pretty sure I posted in this thread about the battery life sucking. Oh well, I have a few AT&T upgrades coming that I planned to use before I switch to the cheaper family plan. I'll dump this on someone else.

Wasn't even looking at getting an iWatch. Zero interest. On MacRumors, a report says Apple is looking at a $400 price for one. Really? I know people will buy one at that price but that is insane. This watch better do a lot of things like projecting a hologram from it or something.

No way I'll pay 400 for that watch. Also, if the 6 doesn't have a base 32GB, then I'll probably look at a different phone. I have a couple upgrades coming and I've got so much on iTunes for the whole family that I've stuck with the iPhone.
