Sorry to hear! In or out of a case? With or without Applecare?
In a cheap Chinese battery case without the top clip (protects top half of Phone) in. No AppleCare (I opt for handset insurance thru Verizon).

$109 > AppleCare. Oops! ;)
Don't you still have to pay something for a cracked screen with Apple Care?
Yep:

AppleCare : $99

Service Fee : $79

Total with AppleCare : $178

If you have more significant damage, it becomes good value, but even at two screen replacements (the max covered under AppleCare) it's still cheaper to pay apple directly. The deciding factor for me was Apple Care doesn't cover a LOST/STOLEN device, which I am concerned with. Thus I opted for Verizon's handset insurance.

Go to your local mall and find a kiosk that will do it for 60 bucks.
iPhone 6?

1) Unlikely for that Price. 4S or 5? Sure. Every price I've seen from 3rd parties for an iPhone 6 screen around here is close to $100 or more.

2) Many of the cheap places you cheap non-OEM displays/digitizers. The COST for an OEM Display/Digitizer is $70ish

3) My phone is stil under warranty... I'd like to not void that with some crappy 3rd party screen (image/touch quality aside)

Just an fyi, it's about $110 to fix a cracked screen on an iPhone 6 at an Apple store. My wife dropped hers a couple weeks ago in the driveway and got several cracks on the screen. Apple did a good job fixing it.

Since there is no dedicated Apple Watch thread (that I can find) I figured I'd ask here. Can someone give me the rundown on this thing? Do you need a cell plan to own/use one? That's my biggest concern.

I can't stand this ####### phone anymore.

So sick of my keyboard simply not appearing 50% of the time and forcing me to force close the app (SMS, Email, Phone Search (need to restart the whole damn phone for this)) etc. It's every ####### day, multiple times a day the keyboard simply doesn't appear when I tap within the area to enter text.

Completely unacceptable. Garbage POS.

sounds like it's a problem specific to you, set up a genius bar appointment and take it in. Once they see it happening then they will wipe restore your phone, once they reopen it and see the problem is continuing then they will give you a brand new phone.

First world problems: Because of the Touch ID, I rarely use my passcode. But because of my work e-mail being on there, I have to change it every 30 days and you can't recycle passwords from the previous 12 months. So, it had been so long since I had used/changed my passcode, I couldn't remember it and had to wipe my phone after getting locked out (my phone froze and I rebooted, which requires a passcode and not a fingerprint, at start-up.

The kicker is that the last iTunes back-up keeps giving me an error when I try to restore it (must be corrupt or something) so I lost about 8 months of pictures and files (last time I pulled them off) and had to use a back-up from two years ago.

So I basically have a new phone and the last 8 months of my life never happened.

Technology!

Got the phone fixed that sunday. On Thursday I lost the top section of my battery case that held the phone in. That night i ordered a new battery case. Friday I was carrying some gear into an office for a shoot and it slid out of my case and shattered the screen again on asphalt... 5 days after dropping a new screen in.

On Monday my new phone case arrived.

Yesterday I hit the Apple store to get the screen fixed again... but their screen repair machine was busted so they just gave me a new phone for the $109.

I did something similar only I didn't get my phone replaced this second time as the crack is just in the lower corner. GDB going to a beerfest the day after getting the screen replaced, at some point I thought it would be a good idea to take a panoramic video of the crowd by throwing my phone up in the air :bag:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: fantastic

Heres my current iPhone 6 history:

• Original phone - dropped several times - speaker got dim. Replaced free with brand new phone (was dinged upgood)

• Replacement phone - Speaker got dim again, they worked on it and it improved.

• Same phone - Dropped, shattered screen - $109 for new screen

• Same phone - Dropped, Shattered screen - $109 for whole new phone.

So technically I'm on my 3rd iPhone 6 in about 6 months :lmao:

Oof! You might want to tether to it while you're up on the scaffolding booth.

Finally had it with a battery not lasting a full day. Looking to upgrade my 6 to a 6+. Is there a "trading board" or some place I can figure out how to swap (with some cash) for a 6+? There has to be someone out there who has one and wants to downgrade to the 6 because it's "too big." How do I find this person? My alternative is to buy one, sell the 6 on ebay, and probably eat a lot more money that way.

TIA

6S+ coming in 3-4 months.

I don't think anybody who kept the 6+ for more than a week regretted it or thinks it's too big.

Thx I'll wait on that. What's the expected improvement? Faster processor I assume?

What's the favorite battery extender case for iphone6?

Ideally I could find a case that is both a battery case and has a slot for my ID and train pass, like my current Speck case. I can't seem to find any such combo case. Seems strange to me. Anyone?

still looking for any version 5 for sprint if anyone is getting rid of one. They're being big ##### about not letting my wife upgrade early

My son took my old phone and changed the password. Of course, he forgot and now the phone's locked. The person at the Apple store said the only option is to wipe the phone but someone else said they had the same issue and Apple customer service had a backdoor fix. Anyone know?

Try this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HY3HSZQ/ref=pd_aw_sim_107_1?refRID=0KBR7RSMS1F7FP93YMVFI have a 6 plus and I liked my case so I got the stick on wallet. It can hold multiple cards and cash. It just sticks on the back so I would think it would work on any flat backed battery case. It stretches so it holds just a little (I do license, cc and some cash most times) or a lot, which most wallet cases can't do. I don't carry a wallet ever.

That said so yourself a favor and get the plus and forget the battery case.

Does anyone use the health app to track walking/running distance? I checked it this weekend I've previously checked distance on via car odometer and/or map apps. It seemed to undercount distance walked by 15-20%.

Eligible for upgrade and thinking of the switch over to Iphone 6 from GalaxyS5. Tough decision going from android over these 6+ years, although the Galaxy Edge looks to be hot now.

Do you have to 'link' it to your step in some way? A 6'2" guy is going to have different length steps than a 5' guy, would have some minor effect on total distance. Running would have a different effect than walking too.

Dinosaur here.

I've got to upgrade before my iPhone4 totally fails so I checked into this thread. If anyone has advice I'd say that cheap is a priority but I'm also being dragged kicking and screaming from the stone age so ease of ops will have to take precedence. Seeing this post I did a quick google to find that the Galaxy seems to be favored--comments?

Thx. I never noticed any customizing options, but will take a look.

I've had a second device (android) for the pat couple years until recently. iPhone is still more polished and user friendly across the board. Make the change and you won't likely be upset.

Don't know what other thread to ask this in, so I'll ask here:

Anyone have a karaoke app that they like? We are getting our 10 y.o. daughter a karaoke stand/mic and we can attach an iPad to it.

As a former Android guy, I agree with this.

6 Plus is the best iPhone since the 1st one. Thought the last few were just moderate upgrades this one has been outstanding. Has killed off any need for an iPad for me. Laptop at home, phone for traveling.

Honestly, don't see much at all that would impact me other than the camera upgrade to 12MP from 8MP, although maybe I wouldn't really even notice that. I love my 6 plus, but nothing in that would even make me think of upgrading. I remember when I had the 5, the 5S had the touch ID, which seems like a big deal (I like it a lot), but this seems like just spec upgrades, no real difference. Going from the 5 to the 6 plus was a huge jump for me.

love it. now when i see friends normal 6's they look tiny. No way i could ever downgrade to the 4.7" one. Sold my iPad a week after and doubt i'll want an iPad again.

Just bought a 6 plus today, full freight no contract. Listed the 6 on eBay. Not sure what I was thinking in not going with the plus initially.

I agree. I have been skipping on the 'S' upgrades because they've always been pretty low key.

Still love my 6+. I doubt I ever go smaller.
