Don't mean to butt into your question, but I noticed the Giants signed Brandon Stokely, and have plans to make him the slot guy over Cruz. Is this a week 2 plan, down the road, or is Stokely just a tryout who may never be a gameday active?TIA good question ChimpGentlemen,As a Nicks owner, I'm used to seeing his name on the injury report. With this week being no exception, we're rolling the dice a little by planning on starting him Monday night. What if he can't go, and what if Mr. Fusion is out of beer cans and bananas (see Back to the Future, heard it's good) so going back in time isn't possible? If Nicks is out, who of these guys would you throw in just to make sure you don't have a blank spot in your lineup? Hixon, Barden, Cruz, Thomas, or Jernigan. Non PPRLove the show as always. Thanks!Chimp
Out of town so couldn't be on the show today, but I can tell you that I like the idea because the Patriots have found ways to use these players as weapons. When you define Hernandez as a weapon rather than a tight end you realize that he provides enough mismatches for the Patriots to have greater offensive flexibility with Hernandez and Gronkowski in he lineup than with only one of them on the field. Think of Hernandez more as a receiver and one in the first three reads for Brady and I think its viable. I'm in 2-3 leagues where I can start 2 TEs and I've opted to go with Finley-Hernandez or Hernandez Fred Davis if its PPR. It's a viable strategy. Just make sure you understand your scoring and you're not going overboard with it just to be novel and overlook more effective options.'mvereb said:This one is for Wildman. If feasible, what are your thoughts on starting BOTH New England tight ends each week? Essentially, they took turns having big games last year and both blew up against Miami. Over the course of the season, starting both tight ends would provide elite production from at least one source on a weekly basis.Your thoughts? Thanks guys. Love the show.-Matt
Does it do that on all of our shows, or just the THU night LIve! show?I reconvert and compress the audio from Thu night, so it should be the same as our others....but that show does have a tendency to act weird in media players. This isn't a football question, but a technical one.Is there something special about the way you all encode your shows? I find that the time elapsed/remaining is incorrect in whatever device I use to listen to your show. If I listen to a show in more than one session, this can make finding my place difficult. For instance, in my media player, the time elapsed/remaining on this new show is 0:00/58:35. But it's a 2-hour show.As always, love the show!
To my recollection, the Thursday night shows are the ones that have the main issue, the big difference. Those are the only ones I listen to which exceed an hour, IIRC.The others just skew a little bit off. That is, either on my computer (Windows media Player Classic) or playing as mp3 on stock Toyota stereo, the time elapsed goes off by maybe 7%. That is, I'm at a red light, 22:52 (on the display), Matt says something about Clarity. I chug my beer. But I'm still thirsty. So, I use the handy seek button to go back ten seconds. Matt says something about Clarity. I chug my beer. The display now reads 19:23. Light turns green. After a delayed reaction (beer), I hit the gas and move on with my life.I haven't really tested this all out thoroughly. I am mainly just a bit curious. The Thursday and Recap shows DO hit the end of the progress bar (computer), like 28:32 or something, and just keep playing. Not sure if those are also compressed similarly. Not a huge thing. Like I said, just wondering if I'm the only one. I haven't tried a different media player yet. I've experienced no similar issues with hours-long mp3s from other sources, using same media player setup.Does it do that on all of our shows, or just the THU night LIve! show?I reconvert and compress the audio from Thu night, so it should be the same as our others....but that show does have a tendency to act weird in media players. This isn't a football question, but a technical one.Is there something special about the way you all encode your shows? Hey Topes, I do not have the same issue as you on my computer or my smartphone. HOWEVER, my old school mp3 player will note the same thing, 58:35. This past show was exactly 1:58:35 long. I noticed for a couple shows that lasted 2:00:53 that my player will read it as inly 00:53 secs long which is obviously wrong. For some reason my old school mp3 player misrepresents anything over an hour. I guess back in the early 2000's they didn't think anyone would listen to anything over an hour. SO, it's probably just your player. Hope this provided some clarity. This isn't a football question, but a technical one.Is there something special about the way you all encode your shows?
