The Audible LIVE! 9/15/2011 - 10pm ET 2hours of greatness (1 Viewer)

Cecil, Big 4 was exceptional at Yankee Stadium last night. Hammett is a maestro, makes it look so easy.

My league starts 2 RBs; 3 WRs; Non-ppr

QB - Stafford

RBs are Foster, Hightower, Tolbert, Ingram

WRs are V. Jackson, Fitzgerald, and $ Lloyd

TE - Olsen, Kendrick

Do I try and deal an RB to upgrade somewhere else or keep a deep bench? I forsee trouble trying to determine who to start each week at RB.

I think I asked a similar question last year after week 1, but I think it is a good question every year:

We get a little bit of clarity from week one, but it's only 1 data point. Give me some examples where that one data point is a new reality and where is it an aberration?

Hey guys, long time listener. Great show. I lost Amendola this week. I already picked up both Gibson and Salas, but are there any WR's flying under the radar? Perhaps ones who maybe received several targets without much production for one reason or another, or maybe where the QB was looking their way a lot, but due to either coverage or being rushed, had to throw elsewhere. For example, I noticed on the first few series of the Jets/Cowboys game, Sanchez was looking Holmes' way a few times but was either sacked or rushed into throwing the ball away.

If you would, talk about the following RBs who were all drafted at various points with upside potential (ranked where they probably went relative to one another), and give me your impression of who, this week, and into the future, you would prefer to gamble on:

1. LeGarrette Blount

2. Mike Tolbert

3. Marshawn Lynch

4. James Starks

5. Willis McGahee

6. Delone Carter

Kind of curious what your gut instinct is, not where they are logically ranked. I think a lot of people are probably looking at this running corps to fill out their RB2 & flex sports, possibly even RB1 if they are an SJax owners or have a less than 100% Arian Foster.

Thanks guys,

@mondo_tiki_man

Hey guys, great job as always. Question on D. Ward's value. I don't own Foster or Tate. Grabbed Ward so the Foster owner wouldn't start him against me last week. Do I hang on or dump him for an upside back up RB or upside WR?

Here are the best options and my roster..

Jason Snelling

Ricky Williams

DaMarco Murray/T. Choice (I own Felix)

Dexter McCluster (RB/WR eligible)

Jamie Harper

J. Ford

D. Amendola

A. Collie

J. Gaffney

Jacoby Jones

Antonio Brown

12 team, 1 keeper league (start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, RB/WR flex, TE, K, D)

QB - Vick, Newton

RB - F. Jones, R. Mathews, B. Jacobs, P. Thomas, M. Lynch, D. Ward

WR - Calvin, Dez, D. Henderson

TE - Olson

K - Henery

D - DAL

Thanks again.

This one is for Wildman.

If feasible, what are your thoughts on starting BOTH New England tight ends each week? Essentially, they took turns having big games last year and both blew up against Miami. Over the course of the season, starting both tight ends would provide elite production from at least one source on a weekly basis.

Your thoughts?

Thanks guys. Love the show.

Great insight last week, I'm back as always for more. Looks like Moreno is likely out week 2. Please discuss expectations for Willis McGahee this week at home against Cincy, and what type of numbers we can expect from him.

Also, when playing in a league with a .5 ppr RB/.75 ppr WR/1 ppr TE flex spot, how do you generally go about determining who to start when evaluating guys across different positions? For example, I'm looking at choosing my flex this week between Willis McGahee, Nate Burleson (vs. KC), and Owen Daniels (@ MIA). Gotta love Willis in an expanded role, Burleson looks to be a pretty good target in a high-powered offense, and Daniels will be looking to bounce back against a Miami defense that just got crushed by the Patriots tight end duo.

In general, it seems like RB's getting 15+ touches might be the 'safe' play, but perhaps a WR/TE has a better matchup/more upside. Just some general strategy/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks guys - keep rockin it.

During the Belichick story on the NFL network "a Football Life", ugh.

How do you guys feel about Welker this year? Return to form 100+/1000+?

Non PPR 10 team Dynasty league would you trade away Adrain Peterson for AJ Green and Mark Ingram if you felt you would probably not have a good shot to win the title this year ?

Is that enough for Peterson to trade him away and hope that those 2 guys pan out ?

Gentlemen, love the shoooooow!

Please spend some time revisiting the Tight End by Committee. I have Olsen and Pettigrew, but Davis, Moore and Gresham are on the waiver wire. Do I upgrade or stand pat?

Help me skate to where the puck will be!

I know you guys are just as excited as me for tonights Its Always Sunny in Philly season premiere, you must be really dedicated to FF to schedule the Audible on the same night.

Anyways heres my question...

Indy looked BAD last week but all of their players with the exception of Wayne can be pretty much had for next to nothing. Is there any sneaky play you try to get out of this Indy team? Could you rank these 5 Indy players and talk about any upside (if any). Thanks

Addai

D. Carter

Garcon

Collie

D. Clark

Steve Smith went off week 1 so my question is do you guys really think Smitty is back as a WR1 or even a WR2 ? I am having a hard time with this one as he fooled me last year scoring twice in the 1st 2 weeks and then did nothing the rest of the year.

He had as many TD's as all last year and 1/3 of his yardage of last year in just 1 week.

Was week 1 a fluke or will be safe to start the rest of the season in a 3 WR league ?

Hey guys, need CLARITY.

Dumb defense question. I usually just add and drop defenses all year but my Chicago defense actually looked like a possible keeper after week 1. The question is, do I start them against Drew Brees and the high flying Saints or do I do the unthinkable and pick up ANOTHER defense like Washington this week at the expense of cutting Bernard Scott?

Hey guys, how do things look for Decker in a PPR league this Sunday with Brandon Lloyd out vs. Bengals pass defense (their run defense looked pretty stout vs. Cleveland last week) and same goes for Jacoby Jones vs. the 500 yard Miami pass defense with Kevin Walter sidelined? I love the show guys and thanks. Scott

Hey guys, I got into a league this season that awards points for return yardage at the same clip at rushing or receiving yardage. Needless to say I regret getting in after seeing Ted Ginn outscore Megatron this past week. Put I already paid so I'm looking for a few players that could shine in this format.

Hey guys! What are your thoughts on some RB "flyers" in a non-PPR redraft league? Delone Carter (Ind), Bilal Powell (NYJ), Dexter McCluster (KC), and Roy Helu (Wash). Any with higher upside than the others, and which do you like from that list?

Going deep on this one.

Can you guys discuss/recommend potential RB stashes in redraft?

Specifically Shane Vereen, Alex Green, Bilal Powell and Johnny White.

Esp w/ Law Firm, Grant, Shonn Greene and Spiller on the Downgrade list?

Who should we snap up off the wire before it's too late?

Thx!

Probably getting late in the show...in case you haven't discussed WRs at this point, maybe give your thoughts on some WR "flyers" in a non-PPR redraft league? Arrelious Benn (TB), Brandon Gibson (StL), Andre Roberts (Az), Jabar Gaffney (Wash), Emmanuel Sanders (Pitt), Denarius Moore (Oak), and Greg Salas (StL).

Do you look at that list and see any that you think "Holy Moley! How is that guy not on somebody's roster?"

End of the bench depth versus backup up your Stud?

I am in a 14 man PPR league, all TDs are 6 points, and you can flex a second QB. I have Fitz as one of my starting WRs, and have Roberts at the end of my bench. Am I better off holding onto him or grabbing Flynn to backup Rodgers since he is my main QB?

Another way to ask it might be...when should you backup your QB and which are the ones worth doing so for?

Thanks for the show and all the help it has provided over the years. I'm hoping all the preseason McGahee hype by Lammey is going to come to fruition for me this week!

Where have you gone Doctor Rockzo, a nation turns it's lonely eyes to you.

Gentlemen,

Looking at deep dyno roster stashes, non ppr. Please rank for long term potential.

David Nelson

Dezmon Briscoe

Adrian Arrington

Donnie Avery

Randy Moss (I think he'll be back, 34 years old though, and whacked out of his flippin' skull)

Marcel Reece

I like David Nelson the best here. He seems to be getting numerous targets and he's an imposing presence.

thanks for the time. Koo-koo-ka-choo Dr. Rockzo.

Gentlemen,

As a Nicks owner, I'm used to seeing his name on the injury report. With this week being no exception, we're rolling the dice a little by planning on starting him Monday night. What if he can't go, and what if Mr. Fusion is out of beer cans and bananas (see Back to the Future, heard it's good) so going back in time isn't possible? If Nicks is out, who of these guys would you throw in just to make sure you don't have a blank spot in your lineup?

Hixon, Barden, Cruz, Thomas, or Jernigan. Non PPR

Love the show as always. Thanks!

Chimp

Don't mean to butt into your question, but I noticed the Giants signed Brandon Stokely, and have plans to make him the slot guy over Cruz. Is this a week 2 plan, down the road, or is Stokely just a tryout who may never be a gameday active?TIA good question Chimp

Cecil

I am interested in he RB situation in Miami and Denver

in Miami, consensus is that Reggie goes down soon.. Yet with DThomas not proving he is a capable backup, how does Miami deal with ith whe. Bush goes down? Anyone one the radar beyond Thomas and LJ?

Similar question iN Denver. with Mereno out / underperforming, where do they turn beyond McGahee? Seems the consensus is that Willie is not an every down back

thanks..

Out of town so couldn't be on the show today, but I can tell you that I like the idea because the Patriots have found ways to use these players as weapons. When you define Hernandez as a weapon rather than a tight end you realize that he provides enough mismatches for the Patriots to have greater offensive flexibility with Hernandez and Gronkowski in he lineup than with only one of them on the field. Think of Hernandez more as a receiver and one in the first three reads for Brady and I think its viable. I'm in 2-3 leagues where I can start 2 TEs and I've opted to go with Finley-Hernandez or Hernandez Fred Davis if its PPR. It's a viable strategy. Just make sure you understand your scoring and you're not going overboard with it just to be novel and overlook more effective options.

This isn't a football question, but a technical one.

Is there something special about the way you all encode your shows? I find that the time elapsed/remaining is incorrect in whatever device I use to listen to your show. If I listen to a show in more than one session, this can make finding my place difficult.

For instance, in my media player, the time elapsed/remaining on this new show is 0:00/58:35. But it's a 2-hour show.

As always, love the show!

Does it do that on all of our shows, or just the THU night LIve! show?I reconvert and compress the audio from Thu night, so it should be the same as our others....but that show does have a tendency to act weird in media players.

To my recollection, the Thursday night shows are the ones that have the main issue, the big difference. Those are the only ones I listen to which exceed an hour, IIRC.The others just skew a little bit off. That is, either on my computer (Windows media Player Classic) or playing as mp3 on stock Toyota stereo, the time elapsed goes off by maybe 7%. That is, I'm at a red light, 22:52 (on the display), Matt says something about Clarity. I chug my beer. But I'm still thirsty. So, I use the handy seek button to go back ten seconds. Matt says something about Clarity. I chug my beer. The display now reads 19:23. Light turns green. After a delayed reaction (beer), I hit the gas and move on with my life.I haven't really tested this all out thoroughly. I am mainly just a bit curious. The Thursday and Recap shows DO hit the end of the progress bar (computer), like 28:32 or something, and just keep playing. Not sure if those are also compressed similarly. Not a huge thing. Like I said, just wondering if I'm the only one. I haven't tried a different media player yet. I've experienced no similar issues with hours-long mp3s from other sources, using same media player setup.

Hey Topes, I do not have the same issue as you on my computer or my smartphone. HOWEVER, my old school mp3 player will note the same thing, 58:35. This past show was exactly 1:58:35 long. I noticed for a couple shows that lasted 2:00:53 that my player will read it as inly 00:53 secs long which is obviously wrong. For some reason my old school mp3 player misrepresents anything over an hour. I guess back in the early 2000's they didn't think anyone would listen to anything over an hour. SO, it's probably just your player. Hope this provided some clarity. :)
