Let's not get carried away. The franchise survived Ben Flajnik as the Bachelor. Plenty of people will watch even if they don't make Pigpen the Bachelorette.

Honestly, and this sounds bad...I don't. Not unless the bulk of the cast was also black or mulatto, and I don't think the producers would do that. African Americans just don't do well on that show in the contestant pool. Look at Marquel from last season. He's probably the guy to last the longest as a contestant. If you made the bachelor or bachelorette African American too, then I think you run into contestant pool dynamics at play.
I believe part of the secret sauce of the Bachelor/Bachelorette series is the appearance of "class." Most of the contestants and their families are middle-upper class folks... Jade's family and story are a little too close to the trailer park for her to be the next bachelorette.
It's funny...right before they did Jade's hometown, I asked the wife if I thought they brought in home make-over crews and re-did the family's houses because most of them looked impeccable. We pondered for a bit, and then, after seeing Jade's house, we came to the conclusion that no, they did NOT come in and do make-overs. My wife's only comment was, "They really like deer," referring to the giant deer head over the sofa.

If he keeps her, there's not a chance they make it past the first few weeks of the post-Bachelor media frenzy. Last night during the rose ceremony, she looked miserable...and that's probably after he told her she was going to stay before bringing her back.
you are giving him waaaaaaaaaaay too much credit....I don't think he has that kind of game.....
She's great from the neck down. Her face isn't so great, and the harsh sunlight at the last rose ceremony really exposed her facial flaws. Her voice is a deal breaker. Her lack of backbone in terms of being willing to completely abandon her life to become Chris's baby momma was a turn off also. Of course if you're Chris, that that puts you at number 1B on the depth chart.
I don't think they're choosing all their own outfits at this point in the show.
The rose ceremony garb was pretty bad across the board.
The rose ceremony stuff was part of that temple ritual garbage, so I understand that. I'm talking about the crap they wear on the nighttime portion of the dates. They have to have some say in those outfits I'd think. In a city that's 30 degrees.... wear a mini skirt dress. In a place that's 110 degrees...wear as much unflattering fabric as possible.I don't think they're choosing all their own outfits at this point in the show.
that's a good point: Becca is non-threatening. Mr. Mumbles strikes me as the kind of guy who, when in an argument with a woman/wife, would literally walk away from the situation because he doesn't like conflict. then come back in a few hours when things are calmed down and pretend like it didn't happen.
His reaction to the virgin disclosure was bizarre. It was like someone hit him in the head with a hammer.
