The best binge watches of all time (1 Viewer)

Breaking Bad is the best binge watch of all time.

Can’t believe nobody has nominated Shameless. Talk about a phenomenal binge watch. Just caught up

Game of Thrones is next for me.

I loved the Sopranos. If I hadn’t watched it already I’d be binging big time

Silicon Valley.
outstanding call, zipped through those four seasons as a precursor to our recent GoT binge - it was so damn good, there were times we said "hey, let's watch another" instead of firing up GoT - it really hooks you, and zips by so effortlessly, because the writing and fleshing out of those 5 main characters is so perfectly brilliant. Ehrlich Bachman is one of the more remarkable characters of recent memory - FTW.

Curb Your Enthusiasm
the greatest.  Larry David is the most genius force ever to hit the small screen.  period. 'nufced.

will also echo GoT and Sopranos calls - 1 and 1A all time for me.  still watching streaming episodes daily on Mobdro - can never get enough.

Just got Netflix this year and a few other viewing options.  In that time binged Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Narcos, GoT, Mindhunter.  Currently working on Ozark and Orange is the New Black with the wife.  Eventually want to go back through the Sopranos as I floated in and out towards the end - too many unresolved plots, ie Russians.  Also need to check out the Wire.  English is my wife's second language so she couldn't follow a lot of the urban slang and couldn't find time to watch alone after season 2.

Other stuff on the to-binge-list:

Last Kingdom

Stranger Things

The Shield

Currently binge watching Daredevil
This, punisher, BB and GoT were the four I binge watched.  I just don't watch that much TV at once usually.

stranger things first season I'd watch one episode each night for 8 days. Not really binge watching. Same with wynonna earp (which I thought was really underrated) and the other marvel shows.

There are a bunch of better shows than 24 now, and in 2017, few people would want to binge 24 episode seasons of a show.

But in it's time, it was such an awesome binge watching show and seemed damn near revolutionary at the time. Plenty of people would skip the live airings altogether, wait for the DVD's to come out, happily the $60 or whatever, and binge it all at once. It was made for that. There has never been anything quite like an adrenaline fueled, nerve-wracking monster 24 binge.

It's not the best show ever, and it's not the best binge-watching show "now", but I think it's probably the best binge of all-time given it's era.

I wouldn't include the best series of all time that most people watched week to week:

Goliath

Bloodline

Man in the High Castle

Handmaids Tail

First couple seasons of Orphan Black

Black Mirror

Dark Net

High on my list and not yet mentioned; Broadchurch, Rectify, River

I just finished a two week binge of four seasons of a light Aussie legal drama called Rake. It was good for some laughs but when it ended I was surprised how much I missed it. The Code is the higher acclaimed and better Aussie binge, but I miss Cleaver that Rake. Kind of like missing Raylen Givens when Justified finished, but different because he's a corrupt attorney with a heart and an Aussie.

Also, Border Town if you don't mind subtitles.

Lost could have been the best binge watch ever if not for the ending.
Never been more in to a show than I was Lost.  I’m a little surprised there hasn’t been some attempts to reproduce some of the unique stuff they did marketing wise - or maybe there has been and I’m unaware.  Having websites and Easter eggs on the net was a great touch.  If they could have come up with a better resolution I’d put it in my top-3 ever but as is id still put it in my top-10 or so.

Good call on Broadchurch, especially season 1.

Also liked Rectify, but I was ready for it to be over. Watched it till the end to see how it finished but it was rough. Not because of poor acting or story, just a rough story.

Also agree on Lost. I liked 98% of the show. That last episode, killed me.

In addition to your list, add The Wire, The Shield, and Mad Men.

kinda dumb though, it’s basically a top 100 shows list.
Best shows <> best to binge watch though.  IMO Mad Men is a perfect example of that.  I live the show, but I really don't think it's a good show to binge the way something like GOT would be.

I think good binge shows are quick paced, short (10-13 eps/season), and preferably have a decent # of characters.

I have never seen an episode of Mad Men, Call Saul, Walking Dead or Breaking Bad.
Love Mad Men, but it's a slow burn and honestly not a ton happens.  I recommed it, but couldnt imagine trying to binge it. Breaking Bad is worth all the kudos.  Walking Dead got dumb after about 4 episodes and kept it up, and I haven't watch Saul either.

Shameless is better in small doses imo.  May be my favorite show ever fwiw.  Probably #2 after the Wire or maybe V from my childhood, lol.

I can't imagine you would walk away believing it wasn't worth the watch.

One of my favorites of all time.
I'm sure it's good.  I never got around to it because I don't generally love mob/gangster stuff like a typical guy seems to, so I was never in a rush to watch hours and hours of it.
