The Birther Conspiracy Thread (3 Viewers)

In 1787, illegitimate children had different rights. There is no way the founders of this great nation intended for an illegitimate child of a foreign bigamist to attain the highest, most powerful position in the new land.
So their argument is that Obama belongs to a certain class of people whom the founders never intended to become president? ####, I could've told you that just by looking at him.
:lmao:

This is the same woman that started the "Ground Zero Mosque" controversy.
I tried to tell you Tim...... ;)
w/o having to check 72 pages, what did you tell Tim?
That the crazy would continue even after a birth certificate were presented
the fringe will always exist
I don't necessarily call this "fringe".....it's beyond the typical fringe, right smack dab in the middle of delusion and it's not getting much smaller.

More poll results:

More than a week after the White House unearthed President Obama's original, long-form, Hawaii birth certificate, only 48% of Republicans polled said they believe he was born in the United States.

In a poll conducted by Public Policy Polling from May 5-8 of 610 Americans who usually support Republicans in primaries, 34% said they did not believe Obama was born in the U.S. while 18% said they still aren't sure.

Not surprised a bit.

Nearly half of Republicans (49 percent) now say Obama was definitely or probably born in the US, up from 35 percent. Among independents, the number rose from 56 percent to 65 percent, and among Democrats the number gained another three percentage points to 81 percent.
Only 81% of Democrats believe Obama was definitely or probably born here too. It goes to show most people don't pay that close attention to the news.

I think the other 19% is the Cornel West crew, who think he was born in Tel Aviv

Yes...that's what it shows.

Funny how the last 3 bumps were made by Obots. Which side is it that won't let this issue go?
It seems to me at least half of one "side" won't let it go  If you are talking about the FFA specifically and sides here, this isn't uncommon. When folks are as wrong as the birthers have been and continue to be, the FFA MO is to pick on them until they stop being stupid. Not saying it's right/wrong, but that's the way it is.

19% of Democrats are racists?

i have people on the ground investigating this, and they do not believe what they are seeing

I feel vindicated by this thread

Was he born in Hawaii - yes -- vindicated

Was it bad policy not to just release the long foem in the first place - The President agreed with me. the issue was sucking all of the air out of the room for focus on important issues -- vindicated again

.

Obama waited long enough for people to commit themselves to the issue, and then he exposed their foolishness. Pretty sure that was the plan all along.

Great to see it got him a huge jump in the polls for the 2012 election. I'm sure this issue would be the difference maker.Seems to me he planted enough doubt with some who may not have had it before, and then his arrogance in not releasing it immediately when he could have simply buried the issue right off the bat, did more damage to his re-election chances than his game playing did for his benefit. There are still some very real quetions about his past that still remain unanswered - but the economy, unemployment, falling quality of life, his hard left positions, and how he's screwing up in foreign matters will be what sinks him (if the GOP has the balls to call him on this kind of stuff, which McCain didn't last time).

uh no....as evidence in the nominal shift in those who now believe him. By in large, those who didn't believe him before, still don't. It's almost half of one "side" and almost 20% of the other. Not sure if it will hurt him in the long run, but if it does, that's a pretty sad commentary on this country as a whole and shines a pretty bright light on how we got to where we are today.

ETA: The shark move in all this would have been to expose the idiots in a public debate forum by giving them something they could hold and touch. Though, I am certain, approx half would still not believe him.

And this was a great diversion from all the bad news in which he made a lot of people look silly. He got a nice one-two punch with the long form release and OBL.

My thoughts are that releasing the birth certificate freed up some time for Obama to work on that OBL thing.

Just speaking for myself, as of very recently, I am no longer agitating on the issue of whether Obama was born in the U.S. (except maybe sarcastically).I am, however, still interested in the issue of whether a great many people are insane. To me, that issue is timeless.

One of the ironies is that the anti-birthers - those so admant against Obama releasing the long form, were so filled with joy when he finally did it/ Why would they be so filled with joy over a policy decision they were against? Perhaps they were a little worried. As much as they adhered to the party line, their adamant anti-birtherism must have come from seeds of doubt. If not they would have denounced this policy decision. I applaud the steps Obama took towards transparency here and to quell the doubts of all, even those who would never admit it. It was a policy decision I advocated from the beginning and Obama has vindicated me.

This is a pretty ridiculous post. First off, I don't know anyone who was filled with joy. Personally, I was extremely disappointed by it, because I viewed it as giving into the loonies. I don't think a President of the United States should ever lower his dignity to do something like this. Your "advice" was absurd, because it was laced with all sorts of innuendos which suggested you were certain there was something wrong. Obama didn't vindicate you; he gave in to your completely unjustified and bizarre demands, and shame on him for doing so. But you and those like you deserve no credit for this, only further mockery (which you're sure to receive.)

Bumping a thread after a week of dormancy to pat yourself on the back?

Ah, okay. It seemed like on odd bump, but it makes sense now.

As a die-hard non-birther, as well as non-non-birther, I believe it was my apathy and occasional snarky comments that invigorated the birthers in their mission, strengthening their resolve to shout louder than the other side about this complete non-issue. The laughter and derision I gave their occasional reasonable questions only led them to develop insaner, absurder theories, which the President eventually felt compelled to quell by releasing the forged, kern-filled, so-called "long-form birth certificate"*, continuing the cycle of stupid.

I feel truly vindicated that my not caring has directly led to birthers feeling vindicated (yet still angered and suspicious).

*Denotes fake documents

Actually, I hoped he never would. At least not until the 2012 campaign was in full swing and birthers like you were at a fever pitch.Obama did not have to lift a finger. All the dirty work was done for him (by birthers like you). No play he can ever make would make you look as bad as you did. I hope you hold on to these sour grapes for a long time to keep this thread and your ~200 posts of pure gold going. :pics: eta - aren't you Tin Hat as well? I guess that puts you around 230! That is timscochet territory! Impressive.

I'm surprised the fake birth certificate was enough to kill this issue in the first place.
It wasn't just the fake birth certificate. It was the faked assassination of Osama Bin Laden the same weekend. The news media just ran away with the second story, forgetting the first, all the while still pretending Obama isn't a pink.
