Now that this is behind us
I've spotted some oddities in the document. The typewritten lines aren't parallel; they're jumping all over the place. The department of health numbers all curved in an arch, The "II" in his name is low, the year in his birth date is low, the 'm' in P.M. is off for whatever reason, the date in box 22 (AUG) slants at a diagonal. We either have the world's worst typist in '61, or something else. Even with old typewriters, having text appear evenly on the same horizontal line was easy enough.
- long form still says "Certificate Of Live Birth" (COLB is not the same as a birth certificate)- father's race listed as "African" (African is not a race)
- birth certificate not signed until 4 days later (plenty of time for mother to fly from Kenya to Hawaii)
- father's birth place listed as "Kenya, East Africa" ("East Africa" is not a place name. Also, Kenya is technically in the
southeast quadrant of the continent)
- discrepancy between mother's name on long form (printed as "STANLEY ANN DUNHAM" but signed as "Ann Dunham Obama" (possible forgery issues)
- hospital listed as "Kapiolani" instead of "Kapi'olani"
- questions about whether the name "Kapiolani Hospital" was even used prior to 1978
- long form claims that mother's address is inside Honolulu city limits (it is not)
- discrepancy in spelling of Obama's name on short form vs. long form (short form says "BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA II", "BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA
, II"
- long form is dated April 25,
2011 (who knows if the original 1961 LFBC contained the same data as the 2011 version)
This isn't over, folks. Not by a long shot.
