Well shoot, why stop there, how about violent criminals.I agree, and it is OK to stop domestic rioters as well. Lets all get on the same page.
Weakest officer on the scene that day.
The shooting was so bad, it should be used in videos of what not to do. However this was politicized, so they can't see straight.Still have no idea why - if this riot was so "OMG! INSURRECTION!" as guys like @dozer and others are making it out to be - why there was only ONE shooting. Why was this officer not on the same page as the others?

An armed insurrection is about to breach senate chambers, and you feel as though he should have let them come through? The shooting was so bad, it should be used in videos of what not to do. However this was politicized, so they can't see straight.
why are there 2-3 cops standing next to them (outside the doors) literally doing nothing to stop it?An armed insurrection is about to breach senate chambers, and you feel as though he should have let them come through?
Who was armed? And he should have escalated force appropriatly. Not ran up to her and shot her in the neck. That isnt a tactic in the police training manual. An armed insurrection is about to breach senate chambers, and you feel as though he should have let them come through?
same guy who did thisIt was very bad, and did not save countless lives. It was a political missile though. Scary thing is the other cops were coming up behind Babbit and he could have hit them.
How do you know this?It was very bad, and did not save countless lives. It was a political missile though. Scary thing is the other cops were coming up behind Babbit and he could have hit them.
I have zero issues with the shooting. Said so from beginning. How do you know this?
Thank for you acknowledging the shooting was justified we agree there.I have zero issues with the shooting. Said so from beginning.
But come on. "Countless lives"
GTFO
Like, they had arms...and legs?An armed insurrection is about to breach senate chambers, and you feel as though he should have let them come through?
Someone’s breaking into your house, you gonna stop and frisk them before you try to stop them? Got it.Who was armed? And he should have escalated force appropriatly. Not ran up to her and shot her in the neck. That isnt a tactic in the police training manual.
Preemptive shootings is an interesting angle. If Babbit got through and others followed and pursued the Congress folks that were down the hall, I think more rioters would have been shot. Those are the countless lives that were saved.
Assume everyone is armed. Shoot first.Someone’s breaking into your house, you gonna stop and frisk them before you try to stop them? Got it.
Pretend this is the White House. If the president is just down the hall, what should the police or secret service do?Preemptive shootings is an interesting angle.
Are we moving to hypotheticals now? And off the actual facts?Pretend this is the White House. If the president is just down the hall, what should the police or secret service do?
Pretend? Quite a few of the folks there thought they were in the White House based on their own words.Pretend this is the White House. If the president is just down the hall, what should the police or secret service do?
Many of us have disdain for Congress. That's fine, bit we need to recognize that they have a higher level of security needed than the rest of us shmucks. You attack Congress, you face stiffer consequencesAre we moving to hypotheticals now? And off the actual facts?
Totally disagree. Couldn't disagree more. Politicians are supposed to serve the people. They are public servents. Many of us have disdain for Congress. This is your home, you are protecting people. You are in a room that you have barricaded off. The door is being broken in. A window has broken open and someone jumps into it.Preemptive shootings is an interesting angle.
He hardly shot first big guy.Assume everyone is armed. Shoot first.
These liberal ideas make my life easier.
Gotta love the reaction of the so-called party of "law and order".![]()
Are the cops already on scene? This is your home, you are protecting people. You are in a room that you have barricaded off. The door is being broken in. A window has broken open and someone jumps into it.
What is your response?
Wow. Sorry, but this is ridiculous. Our elected officials, be it the president, the mayor of your town, your US representative, etc deserve more respect from you. There is a reason we elected them.Totally disagree. Couldn't disagree more. Politicians are supposed to serve the people. They are public servents.
If I have one bullet to protect a politician or a civilian, I'm protecting the civilian 100 times out of 100.
Dont put politicans on a pedestal.

I'll put my life on the line every day for a random civilian. Politicians deserve nothing.Wow. Sorry, but this is ridiculous. Our elected officials, be it the president, the mayor of your town, your US representative, etc deserve more respect from you. There is a reason we elected them.
You really have no idea what is going on as it's a total ####show. You are aware your house has been entered from multiple entrances and you can see that the backup you had just bailed. Are the cops already on scene?
My home is a private dwelling and not a public location, so that is an additional layer of scrutiny to a shooting.
Did I shoot and kill someone in my house who was unarmed?
As a homeowner, if I shoot and kill an unarmed intruder in my home with police on site, I'm not in the clear for a justified shooting. You know that much right?
Discourse is dead.
Exactly. Its the only "armed insurrection" I've ever heard of where they have to this date failed to provide one single solitary armed person. That just shows you what people are swallowing here.Who was armed? And he should have escalated force appropriatly. Not ran up to her and shot her in the neck. That isnt a tactic in the police training manual.
The President getting assassinated is devastating for the country. It's not that their life is worth more it's the position.I'll put my life on the line every day for a random civilian. Politicians deserve nothing.
I assume you valued Trumps life over everyone else for the last 4 years?
The President is also a politician who is supposed to serve the people and we spend a lot of resources on their protection. I have no problem with protecting politicians.Totally disagree. Couldn't disagree more. Politicians are supposed to serve the people. They are public servents.

And if the officer's name rings a bell to anyone..He's the same guy who left his handgun in the bathroom at the capitol in 2019 and caused a stir. He's weak and pathetic to not only not understand that he had no legit reason to shoot this woman who was of no literal threat but to also act as if he's the hero of his own story. The hypocrisy is above the boiling point on this. Had this been ANY officer in Oregon this past summer..or Minny...or Chicago.or...you get it, the officer would still be rotting in a cell somewhere.
