It feels good to have been so high on this kid and see him not only excel, but also be utilized in the ways we've been discussing. Yes, he caught passes but he also ran the ball REALLY well.

Before this game, I was hopeful that Johnson could come close to emulating Bush's production as a rookie in PPR leagues. After today's game, I'm confident he can reach it. He may not get the number of receptions Bush got (in fact, I'm sure he won't), but I think he'll prove to be a better and more consistent rushing threat than Bush was. I just wish he had a better QB situation because he would be a major stud with a legitimate QB on that team who defenses had to respect.

This really has nothing to do with anything, but I watched his Boise State thrashing last year. Other than his dominating performance, I noticed one thing that I've never seen talked about. The guy twitches unlike any athlete since Mahmoud Abdul Rauf. It's pretty noticeable in this clip when he's lining up in the backfield before the play starts, and when he's walking back to the huddle after some of the other plays end:

The first time he has a bad or avg game the haters will come. Make no mistake about it, they're just waiting for their moment to thrash this thread. Like I've been saying all along, you must believe in your eyes. Just watching him you know he's somethin special.

You want to compare him to Chris Brown but not Barry Sanders? Why can't you take his performance for what it was and leave it at that. I mean you can pull all the analogies you want but they don't mean squat. The dude played well in one real game against a good defense with a solid LB corp, I'd say that's a positive. Let's wait a while before we put him up against two players who we know pretty well.I do hope Fischer doesn't over use him. There is a place for White to pick up part of the load. Look at the games that R Bush and Wesbrook had yesterday. Great players don't NEED to get the ball 25-30 times a game to be effective. I don't want to see CJ3 being used like Bush was last year and taking too much of a beating inside.

With Vince Young gone for 2-4 weeks, Chris Johnson's production should only get better. Kerry Collins should be able to keep defenses out of the box far better than VY because he's a much better vertical passer than Young. The tea leaves are really lining up nicely for CJ and a possible ROY season.

He did look good with the crutch (Young) in there and should be even better now. I will have to climb on this bandwagon now. The flat tire is out of the way.

Mendenhall will be taking a back seat to the Willie Show in Pitt for quite some time. Think Michael Turner behind LT. It comes down to production and on that basis Johnson was EXTREMELY effective and White was ineffective. Forget carries/touches, etc. it's going to come down to how they produce on the field and after 1 game you've got a guy with a 6.2 ypc (and looked terrific doing it) vs. a guy with a 2.6 ypc (and looked very pedestrian as always) on the same number of carries.They would have lost the game if not for Johnson. I suspect the lionshare of White's carries will be mop up carries...

I watched it, and it' clear that Lendale won't be getting even half the touches as long as Johnson is healthy. The only reason White was in the game when he scored that TD is because Johnson went out for a few plays with cramps. Johnson is clearly the best offensive player they have and it's not even close. White owners would be wise to dish him now while he still has some value. Having to rely on goalline plunges for your RB2 or RB3 is not a winning formula.

Those that are downing White's YPC need to realize that he picked up a key first down on short yardage at the end of the game when carries are typically 2 yarders and one was a 1 yard plunge.

Im so mad I basically ignored this thread before my draft. Not sure why but I sincerely thought Johnson was a COP back and I didnt even do any research on him. Instead I grabbed White as my RB3 (which isnt that bad) but if I knew this I wouldve grabbed Johnson as my RB3.

He plays 4.2 in football speed....not just a sprint in the combine like so many detractors were thinking.It is all about what your eyes are seeing. And what my eyes are seeing is a far better RB in Chris Johnson and a guy who is their main weapon and offensive focus. Their game plans will be built around Chris Johnson. that's fine...a lot of teams have short yardage bowling balls and I'd imagine in similar spots White may get the call. I don't think anyone is saying that White won't get any more carries but the thought that he will get a split is wishful thinking IMO. If it weren't 90+ degrees and Johnson doesn't cramp up the split would've been 21-9. At the half, White had 3 touches for 6 yards. 3. Johnson had 11-95 and a TD. I don't even know how this is really a discussion outside of just looking at a boxscore.Seriously, the best thing a White owner can do is to try and sell the story that they'll split carries and get some value while you can (I own both guys).

I said on a post below that all you really need to do is watch the 1st half and that will tell you all you need to know. White had 3 touchs for 6 yards to Johnsons 11-95-1. Mind you this is supposedly Fisher who's fiercely loyal to his guys and this was Johnson's first game in the NFL. Johnson was the only reason they were in that ballgame.When is the last time Fisher has had a guy like him? Never?As a FF owner I wouldn't want to go into the half with my #2 RB going for 3-6 and have to pray for an injury/blowout for my starter to get some carries.

As a Titan's fan I can say with confidence you are wrong. The only way Lendale gets more touches is if Johnson gets hurt. Before Johnson went down he had 18 touches to Lendale's 9. Fisher Ball will use them both but Johnson will definitely be getting more than Lendale.

People keep making the Eddie George analogy to LenDale and it just doesn't work. Why? Because during George's tenure with the Oilers/Titans the team avoided drafting competition for him throughout his career; they believed in George lock, stock and barrel. With White, they've already drafted three running backs including a 1st and 2nd rounder. That's no endorsement of his future as the main offensive cog IMHO.

It feels good to have been so high on this kid and see him not only excel, but also be utilized in the ways we've been discussing. Yes, he caught passes but he also ran the ball REALLY well.

He plays REALLY fast. Puts a lot of pressure on the D and looks like he can break nearly every time he touches the ball...

I knew he had a nice day yesterday, but watching those highlights there were several times when the last guy got him to keep him from some huge gains and a monster day.

Every league that I'm in I tried to nab Johnson a round or two before his ADP and got beat out by another owner who wanted him more than I did and decided to grab him 2-3 rounds before his ADP... Dude's the real deal, I'm realizing I should've bought into the hype more and ignored the ADP.

When a relative unknown goes way earlier in the draft than most of us thought he would, and that guy has a 5 page thread before TC, you start to pay attention. When that thread grows this large before week 1 and you don't pay attention, shame on you.

In his defense, inordinately large threads can be daunting. It's one thing if you participated in the thread from its genesis and can organically follow the conversation. But wading into a thread this large after the fact is no small feat.
