The Colts will smoke the Pats this week! (1 Viewer)

As great as Belichick is, he just doesn't have the weapons on either side of the ball to take down the Colts this year.I know there will be a major flaming headed my way before this game, but I can take it.The Colts offense is now clicking on all cylinders. The Pats offense isn't scaring anyone these days. The only chance I give them is if they dig ruts every 3 yards about 6" deep on the field. Or maybe map out and lay down some land mines. Since the NFL allows them to make a mockery of the league with their terrible field conditions, I think this is very possible. The Pats get exposed this week. They're in a weak division, with Arena league WRs, and an aging but good D with above average DBs.Colts 31-17. Let the flames begin...
Colts also play in a WEAK Divison !!Colts run defense is 32nd (Last) in NFLWhen will you learn it is DEFENSE not Offense that Win's Championships and MOST Big Games !!Could the Colts Win Sunday ??? Sure they could !!But your logic that the Colts can't be stopped is exactly what we have heard the last several years BEFORE the Colts died in the Playoffs !!Sorry this Colts team is the same old Colts Team !!! Great Offense, Mediocre Defense !! Soft Dome Team !!They will Flame out the same way !!!!Last years Colts Team was BETTER than this years Colts team !!!Indy Colts GREAT Fantasy Team !!! Flawed playoff team !!!I like the Pats 21-13 !!! Pats have won 6 of the last 7 against Manning and Company !!Should be a GREAT Game !!

With a name like DonPats? How do you figure that?

Dj, you do know they just replaced the turf at Gillette, right? Unfortunately, they changed it right before we got a gazillion inches of rain and also a Revs playoff game...but it has to be better than the dirt they were on before.

It could be pretty interesting seeing the Pats running game vs. the Colts weak run D, alongside the Colts passing game vs. the Pats patchwork secondary.
I think it'll look alot like what we just saw in Denver. Plummer had about as good a game as he could have. Will Brady be that much better than Jake?
:lmao:
Classic case of taking something out of context! Nice work hero! What I said was, Jake had a very good game. And would Brady be that much better than Jake was last week in this game.Plummer last week:

13/21 174 1 TD

5/22 rushing 1 TD

Pretty good numbers from a QB on any given week!
Taken out of context? All I did was giggle at your question of whether Brady would be better than Jake was last week against Indy. I knew what Jake did, you didn't have to tell me, that's why I giggled. Brady can do that blindfolded, with one hand tied behind his back. In comparison, this is what Brady did last week, since we're throwing around stats now....29/43 372 4td 1int

So yes it was kind of funny that you asked if Brady can be better than Plummer was against Indy. I believe Brady is 7-1 against Peyton and is a HOF QB right now, IMO. I'm pretty sure he'll have a better day than Jake.

Fair enough. I guess we'll see.

I think it will be other way around. New England two headed running attack will controll the clock. Unlike last week they will run run run and controll the clock. And the game. Manning possibly could keep it close but it comes down to NE D can make stops and Indy can't.

Sorry I didn't realize the Houston Texans were in that divison. Your right that division is a POWERHOUSE !!And Jacksonville !!! Wow could that possibly be the same Jacksonville team the Pat's beat by 3 or 4 TD's in last years playoffs ???And let's not even talk about those talented Titan's ( Dolphins beat allready them champ ).You're right the AFC East is Weak !! But the Colts division is a real POWERHOUSE !!!This board is loaded in typical "Fantasy League" experts !!! It's all about the Offense !!!Tell me why haven't the Colts Juggernaut won any SB's ???? How could that be ???? Their such a great "FANTASY TEAM" !!!Couldn't be because the DEFENSE SUCKS could it ???32nd defense against the run this year !!! But of course they have to play those TOUGH Texans and Titans !!Why will this year be different from the last 5 years for the Colts ?????????????????????

As a fellow member of Patriot Nation, I greet and embrace you as a brother. But please - stop. You're ####### killing us right now. :wall:

I think the patriots defense will do much better than the bronco's defense against the colts... The broncos run a very vanilla defense that relies on speed. The patriots relies on schemes, which is peyton's weakness.

Also, if the pats run on the colts all day long, peyton will have no chances to throw.

I predict a low scoring game with the pats edging out the colts 24-10

Does everyone picking the Pats forget that last year in week 9 the Pats got blown out at home against Indy? Deja vu anyone?
I remember that !!! But do you remember Pat's have beaten the Colts 6 of the last 7 times they have played ? Also do you remember Rodney Harrision didn't play in last years game and the Pat's secondary has been revamped since then. But your point is well taken.

Indy has to get out to a fast start in this game, or it will be a long night. They can't play catch-up in this game, not in NE (we're not talking about the Titans or Redskins here). Peyton and the O HAVE to get out in front early (which scarily, they have not done to date), and hope it is enough to take Pats away from the run. If it comes down to the Colts run D needing to step up, I'm certainly not optimistic. If the Colts can set the pace of the game, I am.

Colts 32

Pats 28

Colts win regular season games, Pats win playoff games.

IMHO Bellichek will let the Colts have this game. He is a long term strategist and knows that this game is meaningless. He'll keep it close, but let Indy win. Here is why this plan is genius:

- When the season winds down and the Colts have wrapped up the #1 seed, they'll sit their starters and then have a bye week and be completely out of sync for the playoffs. The Pats will be forced to play to the final week and will be finely honed by then.

- If the Pats play the Colts in the playoffs, he'll have seen the game plame Dungy & Peyton deployed against them in the regular season and develop a scheme to shut it down. However, he won't show much this week and if they meet in the playoffs, then he'll do something different and dominate Indy.

- Finally, he'll use the loss as motivation for his squad the rest of the way, especially if they meet again in the post-season where he'll get to play up revenge as an inspirational tool.

Pretty simple stuff really.

But, last year, Brady and Belichek didn't react to the loss to the Colts last year like it was a meaningless game. That tells me they won't "let the Colts win" this year. Also, the wins the Pats won in 2003 and 2004 completely determined that the Colts were stuck in Foxboro in January (if the Colts had won those either of those games, the seeding may have been different) - and even given Brady's dome record, they know their advantage in January would be bigger in Foxboro than in the RCA Dome. I don't agree for a second that the Pats would "let the Colts win this one." No way.

This is the NFL, you never give a team a game in the regular season or in the playoffs.

Teams fold up tent all the time in Week 16 and 17 when their fate is decided. That is exactly why the Pats will lose this week. So the Colts take another month off before the playoffs this year and completely lose their edge...no pun intended.

Wow. I hope you're not serious. How about the fact that the PATRIOTS want the #1 seed? Or the #2 seed? 1st round bye down? Home field advantage down? Do you think the "motivation" team will gain by the HC throwing the game outweighs the chance to play Indy at Gillette rather than at Indy?Is this a :fishing: or is it one of the stupidest posts I've ever read?

This might be the worst threads I've ever seen around here.what a COMPLETE pile of dog crap.
I disagree. The Colts Pats Rivalry has been one of the best ones in all of football over the last 5 years. As far as I am concerned, I look forward to this game every year.

Not too far off from my original post. Closer than expected, but not for Vinatieri missing a couple of FGs, I'd have been right on.

The Pats will be forced to play to the final week and will be finely honed by then.- If the Pats play the Colts in the playoffs, he'll have seen the game plame Dungy & Peyton deployed against them in the regular season and develop a scheme to shut it down. However, he won't show much this week and if they meet in the playoffs, then he'll do something different and dominate Indy.- Finally, he'll use the loss as motivation for his squad the rest of the way, especially if they meet again in the post-season where he'll get to play up revenge as an inspirational tool.Pretty simple stuff really.
 Anyone else notice how they could have run all day long but Brady kept throwing interceptions? Pats win the rematch in the playoffs.
H.K. - I respect your love for your team, but based on your insistence that every move is contrived, all I can say is seek some help.

 I'm not a Pats fan.I don't root for teams, I only root for my fantasy players. See my previous post. I just love the thought of this board going nuts over a Colts loss in the playoffs.

Not too far off from my original post. Closer than expected, but not for Vinatieri missing a couple of FGs, I'd have been right on.
Other than getting the winning team right, I'd say you weren't all that close. Congrats on the win but I didn't see "turnovers" listed anywhere in your post. That was clearly the determining factor last night.

I see this game like this:The Patriots will run the ball down the Colts throat. The Colts will move the ball on the Pats defense, but will turn it over a few times, and that will be the difference. Pats 24, Colts 20.
TYD the Colts have 3 turnover I believe. You might check their +/- ratio before tossing out a gem like that!
What is their YTD turnover ratio now? This "defense" is obviously a bend-but-don't-break scheme. They do enough to force the turnovers when needed. So, yes, I did speak to turnovers and the Colts +/- ratio in this thread.

As a Pats fan, I was disappointed in how the CBs played a mile off the receivers for 3 quarters when playing bump-and-run (or pop-in-the-chops-and-run) in the past has been the most effective. When they finally switched to bump-and-run, the D looked its best. At the same time, the Pats brought in Colts killer Jarvis Green who helped provide better pressure on Manning late in the 2nd half...where was he for the first half? I'm also disappointed that the Pats threw so much out of empty backfields, allowing the Colts' LBs and safeties to not even key on a possible run. The Pats could have killed the Colts with play-action, especially once Sanders started playing closer to the line, but having no RB in the backfield negated this.

That being said, I got to give Manning credit for making some absolutely sick throws under pressure. Bob Sanders deserves a ton of credit for being the force that he is. The Colts will need him for a serious playoff run. Marvin Harrison schooled Ellis Hobbs and that's not an easy feat...Hobbs is a heck of a 2nd-year CB. The Colts should finish 15-1 or 14-2 and have HFA. I hope the Pats get a rematch because I'm a firm believer in if you want to be the best, you got to beat the best and right now the Colts are the best. I'm sure real Colts fans feel the same way, hoping for Manning to get the playoff monkey off his back and what better team to do that against than the team that's had his number the best in recent playoff history.
