The Covid Bowl Season -- post news when players/teams start to go south. And maybe we can win stuff! (1 Viewer)

I was going through a bowl pool and of course, began to overanalyze things, wondering which teams are ripe for outbreaks, lol.

With all the different college ties on this board, I thought some might be able to offer good info a little earlier than "normal".

It would be interesting (am I allowed to say funny?) to see some predictions of programs you think are living on the edge of Covid Cliff.

I did not include the NFL in this Covid protocol barrage simply due to the sheer size of that market making it impossible to get wind of anything before Vegas does.  But apparently, it is indeed causing problems at that level as well.  You have to think a some of these college bowl teams are going to have players start dropping like flies.

I would think all the gamblers in these parts would be all over this.  Some of these (small market) college teams are going be ripe for protocol blowups and it will be possible to capitalize before lines are adjusted.

ESPN article on NFL point spreads moving dramatically as Vegas tries to keep up.

So as you all know, Hawaii had too many Mai Tais and couldn't make last (covid) call.  So now we're left without so much as a pig's foot in the XMAS COVID BOWL buffet line.  Bummer.  Incidentally, Memphis, who opened as a 4 point favorite, was up to over 9 at most shops, even 10 could be found, so word was out that Hawaii was stricken.

Moving forward, I have put money on Air Force.  Besides the fact Service Academies are 37 - 14 ATS in Bowl games (before this year -- Army actually didn't cover -- although they DID cover, and win thank god, AFTER half), I'm thinking Louisville might lose a player or two to protocol.  Just a gut feeling.  If not, I still got AF preparedness to fall back on.

I'm getting 1 1/2 points.  AF opened as a 1-point favorite, btw.

Stanford Steve (from the SVP show) is no slouch.  His play (only one that I saw him give out) is the OVER 55 1/2 in this game.  I expect that line to rise a little.  So with Air Force +1 1/2 already, I just need 27 points to not lose both sides.  Not some ringing endorsement by any means, but these are the little things degenerates cling to during the holidays.  And Egg Nog.

Good luck!
