The Den RB Craze Is Finally Over! (1 Viewer)

Though the supposed magic of Mike Shanahan has dissipated over the years, fantasy football fans still treat all Denver RB's, even those on practice squads or street FA's who are rumored to be coming in for a workout, like they are golden geese. I don't mind them being over-drafted in my leagues, of course, but I think we can all agree that the constant fixation with Denver RB topics has gone beyond sickening.

I know Mike Shanahan is (was) a really good coach, but my first thought when I heard of his demise was YES! It's over! We can finally forget this idea that a Denver RB is somehow automatically significantly better and more valuable than most other NFL RB's just because he is a Bronco!

This should clear up half of the first-page topics in the Shark Pool all by itself. :blackdot: :hifive:  :suds:  :pickle: ;)

Because he's a really good coach we will just have this same dilemma with another team other than the Broncos. If this is why you wanted to see him fired by the Broncos, your celebration might be fairly short-lived.

 The waters will be muddied somewhere else... though if he lands on a team with a proven guy, maybe not...

Lol it's not like there's a stud in Denver that Shanny pulled for no reason. The backfield in Denver will still be a disaster next year. Nobody has shown a thing this season aside from Hillis. They have two options in order to right the ship... drafting a RB or signing one via FA. Torian is the darkhorse but he's a Shanny guy. I think his value left with his former coach.

I have occasionally take some dips into the Den RB craze also over the years (Travis Henry didn't work out too well for me), mainly because if your guy got to #1 on the list at any point you could trade him for pure gold elsewhere. I agree with you on Torain. I am glad I'm not sitting on him in a dynasty. I also agree with the notion that, once Shanny signs somewhere else in a year or three, the craze will begin anew. At least we can enjoy this time period when he is still taking $ from Den and isn't coaching any RB's.
