The End of Marvin Harrison as a STUD (1 Viewer)

A healthy Marvin is still surgical on the field. Still ran a 4.4 40 starting the season. I love Reggie and own him but Marvin is still the man. Reggie tore it up last week because they still doubled Marvin with a bad wheel. When the double moves over to reggie when Marvin is healthy then and only then will the torch be passed.

I may move him and A Smith for Big Ben. Kitna is killing me and I have Chad Johnson, TO, Branch, Jennings, Walker and Stokley. I think Big Ben and Branch in lineup gives me more of a chance to win then Harrison and Kitna

Just sharing what was offered

This entire thread would make a heck of a lot more sense if it was about CJ and TJ. Marvin has an injury = deal with it. He's still a stud, on a team that puts up numbers. TJ has more than passed up CJ as the go to WR, which is much more newsworthy IMHO.

Chad and TJ are the same as Marvin and Reggie. When the coverage rolls to TJ, Chad will have a couple 200 yard, 2-3 td games.Chad Johnson gets the double coverage in Cincy, which is why TJ gets more open looks.

Thanks Football Guys for rating an old fart as your #1 receiver coming into the season!
??? Look at the season he had last year. He was the top scoring WR in my fantasy league last year. While that doesn't mean he'll do well this year, it is at least plausible he would do 85% of last year's output. You can hardly attack FBG for that. Sheesh.
Why is this site bulletproof? They are experts. They charge money for their opinions. I think criticism comes with the territory, and they probably accept it readily.

I doubt, when picking their #1 ranking for Harrison, they assumed he would get hurt. If Harrison wasn't injured, I'm sure he would contest for the No. 1 receiver ranking. Right now, he'll be lucky to break the top 20.

Yes, and in another world where Harrison wasn't hurt, the FBG would be receiving no criticism for their choice. Yet here we are.

*shrug* I think accounting for the unpredictable like injuries is asking a bit much. You should go yell at every other prognostication site about how they predicted SJax so high and yet he is failed. Surely they could see he would get injured.

I never complained in the first place

I trade D. Foster for Harrison last week in a 10 player Keeper league.....When Harrison get healthy he will be gold

This has been a great run but with this knee injury the door has opened for Reggie Wayne to take over. For those who have been asking when does Wayne become the #1 WR in the Indy offense, well the time has come.FYI..............I have neither.
Usual 5 digiter BS!

I realize Harrison's stock is falling, but has it really gotten this bad? Trade yesterday in my newbie yahoo league...

Marvin Harrison for Andre Davis

I never protest trades but feel tempted here... :yucky:

Emphasis on the "when". If your a Harrison owner in the hunt I'm not sure you can wait until the "when" happens. I own Harrison and would be happy to land Holt,TO or Lee Evans for him.

So, is anybody buying?
Me.I am giving up Steve Smith and Henry/YoungforHarrison, Crayton, and Sean Jones
I got him in my PPR league for Graham and Walter.Anybody else buying Marvin this week?
Wow, that's cheap...
If his knee injury isn't a problem I agree. If the knee injury lingers then I'm not so sure. I figured I'd roll the dice since I think the clock is going to strike 12 on Walter when Johnson comes back and probably on Graham when Pittman returns (at least in terms of his PPR value).

This thread is terrible. I came looking for an informative discussion about Marvin Harrison, but what I found was a bunch of whining about trades. Assistant coach forum down?

wow, short memories around this place. I was just able to land Harrison for Dallas Clark and couldnt be happier. Sure he is getting old, but in the colts style Offense, speed doesnt matter, timing does. And FWIW Harrison still has the BEST hands in the league. And is still Peyton's go to guy. I have little doubt he will be in the top 12 WRs in PPG between weeks 9-16.

best offer I got for him in a redraft was DeAngelo Williams.

I took it because I actually am that desperate.
Pure genius. Here's the link from the Indy Star

Dungy says: "I think he'll play, but we'll see how it goes."

Harrison didn't practice Wednesday & no word about today yet.

I think that upon his return this season, Marvin will be a top target again for Manning. It's not like Peyton is going to forget about him. Anyone who was patient and didn't trade him for some doughnuts and coffee will be rewarded come playoff time. Is it a down year? Sure-he's been injured but if you drafted well then why not hold on to him? I think he's been resting the knee so that he can play in the big game this week and if he plays he will go OFF.

DeAngelo Williams?! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Over.

I heard on ESPN on the way home from work that Harrison did not practice today and was doubtful. They aren't telling us the whole story about this injury. He'll be missing the game against the Pats. If he could have played last weekend but they held him out, why isn't he playing in this game when it is so freaking huge? Something is seriously amiss here.
