We have been totally over looked as NFL fans in this whole horrible process of the lockout. Some may say we have no voice or its a "bidness" decision with the Owners and the NFLPA, and should not involve us.

To be totally honest, without the football fans to watch the games or go to the games, the league has nothing...not a thing. They couldnt sell TV deals or advertising if no one was watching. I am surprised that no one has stated a way for fans to respond or protest. The only way to make our point is to hit them in the wallet. I wish I could see a day where the NFL fan would speak up the only way we can... not go see a NFL game in person for the first week of the next NFL season, the owners and players will get the point then. No parking, no tickets, no concessions, no merch. Just empty stands which has not been seen in the NFL virtually ever. Fans should make a stand and make the point that we will not stand for this, we could watch at home, yes the owners get the current TV deal money, but think of the point they would get if the stadium was empty on the first Sunday.

Anyone have anyway to spread the word to boycott week 1 of the next NFL season, to show the owners and players, us fans are really the ones that matter.

Whats your thoughts?

I think this would be an excellent idea. Now to get the word out to the whole country too sit out the first week of the NFL season.

no one will ever do it...the time to boycott is now and we need to boycott the draft.spread the word via twitter & facebook.

I think it would be great if no one paid for their season tickets until the lockout ended and a new CBA was in place.

I think this is an awesome idea. Now if I could just get everyone to boycott one of the skins/eagles games so I can get the tickets for cheap...

The problem is the TV revenue is already in pocket and most of the seats are already sold as part of season ticket packages. So the Week 1 boycott while a noble gesture would have little impact.

The issue isn't that NFL players and owners aren't "seeing the point." Everyone knows a lockout is bad for PR. Everyone knows that this is not an optimal situation. That makes it like every other labor negotiation, ever. The problem is NFL owners are getting very small returns on their investments and about 80% of all players end up bankrupt or seriously injured after they retire. Some people are winning, of course, but there are lots of incentives for both sides to dig their heels in and fight -- like every other labor negotiation, ever. It's not about seeing some mythical point and realizing how good they have it. It's about setting up their future livelihoods as best they can. I don't begrudge anyone involved, and have no desire to boycott anything.
