The FIX redraft (1 Viewer)

Family Matters

Footballguy
You might remember back in May we started a league with several experts and began drafting for a dynasty. That thread is here:

http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...howtopic=239947

Now we are drafting under the same rules for a redraft. The draft order changed but the rules are the same.

The following members are team owners:

David Yudkin-staff

ffweasel-satff

Cecil Lamey-staff

Family Matters

Bri

Team Legacy

Twilight

ravnzfan

Pimpin Ain't Easy

Radballs

Iwannabeacowbotbaby

Capt. Hook

I think everyone is familiar. We even have a few staff members as well. Several owners also play in the WCOFF and other high stakes tournaments. This group is as good as it gets. I say that with no disrespect to anyone not in this group.

Here's the draft page http://football36.myfantasyleague.com/2006...=77967&O=17

Here's the scoring http://football36.myfantasyleague.com/2006...=77967&O=09

The starting line ups are:

1-QB

2-RB

2-WR

1-TE

2-flex (RB,WR,TE)

1-K

1-D/ST

Start 10 players with a roster of 20.

Waivers are blind bid 2x weekly. No IR or other rostering of players.

The rosters of each owner will be posted here:

Mike...1st post has starting requirements:

2RB

2WR

2flex(RB/WR/TE)

to clarify:

we require 1 TE to start, and can flex 2-TE's

PPR for RB/WR's and 2PPR's for TE

start 10, w/7 "position" players

correct?

BTW...I've predrafted 8&9 (am "in the hole" for 8), and won't be back 'til 5 or so....just in case this thing picks up today

You are correct. I mistyped and have fixed. And you can start more than 2 TE's if you want.

With regards to my draft, my team so far is:

Family Matters - Michael Morrison Player Bye

Palmer, Carson CIN QB - 5

Addai, Joseph IND RB - 6

Brown, Chris TEN RB - 7

Johnson, Larry KCC RB - 3

Boldin, Anquan ARI WR - 9

Muhammad, Mushin Chi WR - 7

Brown, Reggie Phi WR - 9

Harrison, Marvin IND WR - 6

Smith, L.J. PHI TE - 9

1.1 I went with LJ in the first round. IMO he's the best back right now. I don't have anything against LT or Alexander but LJ runs with a mean streak that sets him apart IMO.

2.12 Boldin. Usually I would go with another RB here but I like the WR value better. Boldin will do fine. And being a PPR league he looks even better.

3.1 Harrison. Same as above. Harrison is a safe pick that will produce very well.

4.12 Addai. IMO he will be the main RB in Indy. If not to satrt the year certainly by years end. In any case he will get significant time. With the upside that he comes with I like the value here.

5.1 Chris Brown. I think he's a nice value as the 27th RB off the board. White will get some carries but I think Brown is the man this year. White has not done anything to endear himself with the coaches so far. And when healthy, Brown is very productive.

6.12 LJ Smith. At 2 ppr, Smith will likey score top 5 for TE's in this format. He's the #3 option in this offense and with no real WR2 he will get his share. His production last year before McNabb's injury had him tracking top 3 for TE's so I expect more of the same.

7.1 Palmer. I was surprised he lasted this long. In every other draft I've been in he went late 4th early 5th so I wan't expecting to get him. Even if he misses 2 games I will be thrilled. His ppg is 2nd only to Payton.

8.12 Muhammad. As the 36th WR off the board and as my WR3, I am thrilled. His production will be much better than last year and he might even crack 1000 yards again. Who else are they going to throw to?

9.1 Reggie Brown. As the 37th WR off the board I am pleased to get him. Philly has no other WR to threaten his status and he and Smith can share McNabb's love. Based on his 2nd half last year he should pick up where he left off.

10.12 Wiggins. A great compliment to LJ Smith. Both will do well in this format (2 PPR) and now that Krob is likely out Wiggins might be the leading reciever on the team.

11.1 K. Barlow. Within hours of drafting him he gets traded to the Jets. Likely good fortune as he could win the starter's job or at least get significant carries which isn't bad for an RB4.

12.12 Simms. A nice compliment to Palmer. While I expect Palmer to start every games, Simms is nice insurance and might give me a couple of games.

13.1 Tampa Bay. D's score well in this format so having a good D is a nice compliment to the total team. TB has a history of solid D's and will generate many sacks and TO's.

14.12 E. Parker. He is a solid WR that if he can stay healthy he might put up 800 yards. Of course I don't know how Rivers nad he work so time will tell.

15.1 N. Rackers. Kickers will score well and having Rackers should allow me to compete with the upper end of the kicker scoring.

So far this team is balanced and has top level players at all positions. Filling 7 RB/WR/TE positons every week will be challenging but I like the chances of this team to make the playoffs and challenge for a title. Several factors to get there will be:

1. Good health of course. Palmer, Brown and Barlow are the keys. If they're healthy they can produce some great numbers.

2. Addai must be the primary back. If he secures the job in time for the fantasy playoffs this team will be hard to beat. I'm not tied into that but I must have 1 of Addai, Brown or Barlow in order to start the minimun 2 RB's.

seems to me like a bunch of TEs and Rbs are going earlier than normal(ADP)
You mean like Witten at 7.5? :D And what about those QB's? Some guys have 2 already. ;)
Some guy only has 1 Qb, and he's not even healthy yet. :o 6 Pt TD's for Qb is alot of ground to make up IMOSo tell me FM. What's Witten's ADP in a league where TE's get 2pt's per REC, and you can play up to 3 TE's on any givin week?Bri, feel free to chime in if you have an answer as well. Just curious, because under this format, i felt like it was really hard to pass on Witten at that point.
PAE-you missed the part where I was bustin his chops. The smilies where supposed to be the dead give away. :hey: As for the ADP in 2 PPR league, I'm not sure anyon knows. But I will say this about Witten, I am very concerned for his production this year. TO will take some away from him. And I fear the weak O-line in Dal will force them to keep him in to block more again affecting his production. He might only get 40-50 catched this year. It's not terrible but well below where he's ranked as TE5/6. FBG's projects him at 60-630 but I think he'll be hard pressed to make that.

Your right FM, my bad. I just got too much going on at this point, but I was serious about the ADP question. There are not too many leagues like this one, and I was really just wondering where you were getting ADP info from.

Carry on

ETA I also have some of the same reservations about Witten.

Hasselbeck, Matt SEA QB - 5

Davis, Domanick HOU RB - 5

Gado, Samkon GBP RB - 6

Portis, Clinton WAS RB - 8

Rhodes, Dominic IND RB - 6

Burress, Plaxico NYG WR - 4

Glenn, Terry DAL WR - 3

Crumpler, Alge ATL TE - 5

Gates, Antonio SDC TE - 3

Approaching the halfway point and I'm not getting warm and fuzzy over my team. Portis got hurt hours after I took him. News broke about the severity of his knee injury (after finally starting to practice) the day after I grabbed Davis.

By then most of the RB were gone and I had to take Rhodes and Gado and hopr that they see significant time. That of course will weaken my receiving corps, so I'm behind the 8-ball as we head to the second half of the draft. gates better not drop off much or I am doomed.

Have no fear, as I have proven that I can pull a hat out of a rabbit and win with the UGLIEST of rosters (just ask FM).

Okay, let's take a look - at my squad so far

CAPTAIN HOOK

Player...........TM...Pos. Bye

Bulger, Marc STL QB - 7

Alexander, Shaun SEA RB - 5

Barber, Marion DAL RB - 3

Taylor, Chester MIN RB - 6

Burleson, Nate SEA WR - 5

Evans, Lee BUF WR - 8

Fitzgerald, Larry ARI WR - 9

Walker, Javon DEN WR - 4

Miller, Heath PIT RE - 4

1-3 Shaun Alexander - not much to do with the third pick this year except be thankful you are not fourth or fifth and take what the first two guys leave you. My preference would be LJ, but SA is darned good.

2-10 I took Larry Fitzgerald, although I thought it was close between he and TO. I like Owen's talent, but don't like the prospect he might talk himself right off the field

3-3 My first tough choice. The top WR were gone or I might have tried that route, so the choice was Taylor, DDavis or IMO lower rated RB. I don't think Davis is or can stay healthy and am a former believer in Chester, so hopefully he makes the most of the opportunity in Minnesota

4-10 Here was potentially my downfall pick of the draft. Lots of excellent choices, but my feeling is that IF, and I know how large that IF is, Walker is healthy he can have a huge year in Denver. I could have made a safer reciever pick (Mason would have been next for me over Andre Johnson or Lee Evans) or gone with a third RB with Foster (although he must have as many health concerns as Walker). Time will tell on this

5-3 On the corner I was lucky that some of the other drafters don't like Evans in Buffalo this year, I think as the clear #1 WR he will have a good year and that team rates to be throwing a lot (and I really don't care which one is throwing to him)

6-10 I had tons of choices here and frankly think I forgot that the TEs here were 2 PPR (trying to be PC as I believe I looked it up and saw something different), but was really happy to get Barber here in a PPR league and a situation where he could easily be RB1 for the Cowboys (for lots of reasons).

7-3 On the other side of the turn I was really happy to get Burleson here - I think he has a big year in Seattle with Hasselbeck throwing to him at WR2 at the worst.

8-10 I may have succumbed to the TE pressure here although I do think Miller will be Top 10 if not higher this year as Big Ben's security blanket.

9-3 I knew this would be a QB pick, I just didn't really know who. Actually I am usually a wait even longer QB drafter in twelve team leagues, but the value here was very high and Bulger as QB8 is very good. Frankly while I have Bulger rated higher, I might have made the homer pick of Warner and then hoped to pair him up with a healthier alternative, but Bri mad that a moot point with the pick right before me.

So through today's picks - it won't get back to me until sometime over the weekend as picks lag now:

QB - Bulger

RB - Alexander, C. Taylor, M. Barber

WR - Fitzgerald, J. Walker, L. Evans, Burleson

TE - H. Miller

 looks pretty good so far..............

No brainer and a great pick as well.

Good call IMO.

I'm not yet sold but he should do well. Lord knows he'll get every opportunity.

4-10 Here was potentially my downfall pick of the draft. Lots of excellent choices, but my feeling is that IF, and I know how large that IF is, Walker is healthy he can have a huge year in Denver. I love Walker but I have 2 concerns. 1.WR's usually do not do well coming off major knee injury. 2. WR's usually do not do well year 1 with a new team. He might prove both wrong but that's alot to overcome.

5-3 On the corner I was lucky that some of the other drafters don't like Evans in Buffalo this year, I think as the clear #1 WR he will have a good year and that team rates to be throwing a lot (and I really don't care which one is throwing to him).

Personally I think he's going to be great and you got great value with him.

Not sure why you thought TE's were only 1 PPR when we have the same scoring in our dynasty. Remember the draft from June? BTW-I agree that he will likely start several games if not more.

7-3 On the other side of the turn I was really happy to get Burleson here - I think he has a big year in Seattle with Hasselbeck throwing to him at WR2 at the worst.

Good pick at this point of the draft.

8-10 I may have succumbed to the TE pressure here although I do think Miller will be Top 10 if not higher this year as Big Ben's security blanket.

9-3 I knew this would be a QB pick, I just didn't really know who. I like Bulger here as well. He will outperform QB8 if healthy.

QB - Bulger

RB - Alexander, C. Taylor, M. Barber

WR - Fitzgerald, J. Walker, L. Evans, Burleson

lol no I was actually planning on two TEs and then wow they went fastMessed up my trade which was oh so perfect "on paper" w/ ADP and previous drafts. All in all I'm glad I traded. I still am surprised more WRs didn't go but regardless I had the WR depth already and am possibly the strongest at WR position. I have a glaring hole at 2nd RB(which paid for WR depth) but Betts, White, Gado, D Williams, Barber III....they're all pretty close in value. I don't think I lost any RB value trading down. I would do it again.FWIW I'd have two TEs two RBs if it had played out the way I wanted. I thought it'd work out for the other and Rads team seems good so I figure it wound up being a good trade between us.I love how Miami is so into Daunte, wayyy more than I think any team adores their QB right now... it's really strange at that degree, anyhow it gives me confidence. Warner, well he has the best WRs IMO. Leinart or Daunte's knee....the other covers that. I think I can predict that one of them will throw for 300 each week. Which one though? That'll be my prob this year.As for Witten comments here, Fasano will stay in to block if need be. No way I'm looking for the quote but it's been said by BP that he frees up Witten from that. Parcells' TEs are often times fantasy gold so why not him?I'd like to ask two Qs-Why with Portis' injury, did you guys let Betts fall to me? IE Why did you pick(insert backup) before Betts?David, why draft Gado over Najeh if Najeh started last week? Figure less injury risk? If anyone else would have drafted Gado first feel free to chime inAlso, anyone else itchin' to draft Suggs or thinking of when you should get him if the Jets trade went thru? What did you decide? what round was reasonable?

David, why draft Gado over Najeh if Najeh started last week? Figure less injury risk? If anyone else would have drafted Gado first feel free to chime in
I don't consider anything that happens in a preseason game gospel, and IMO Gado has a better chance of starting than Davenport if Green can't go.

So Barlow is now a Jet with a good chance to become their starter. So who's the lucky stiff that drafted him? Looks like FM took him with the 11.1 pick. Nice nice!

Oh and congrats to Twilight for taking Gore. He's looking good now! Real good.

FM,I'll give you the option of trading him for my next pick. You know that his true value lied in that wicked San Francisco offense. In the Jets system, he's not worth much. Let me know. :)

Not sure that this means anything, but in the Anarchy 1 League, Davenport went undrafted (288 total picks) with 73 picks made on RB. If Davenport makes a splash, it would certainly have caught the so-called experts by surprise.

At antsports his ADP is 14th round(they go into 18th) but yet he's only picked in about half the drafts.Pretty odd situation. For me, the guy looks good and runs tough every time I see him play but he is often hurt. Maybe others were similarly impressed when they watched him.I do think amidst 18 rounds if a vet started a preseason game he's worth a pick. Apparently I jumped too early though.Very interesting to find a player many dramatically(draft results)disagree on

FWIW I figured I'd keep being that guy and backed out of David's Anarchy league which I liked. I've predrafted and predrafted in this one so much it's not an easy draft for me, way too much guessing one and two rounds in advance

So Barlow is now a Jet with a good chance to become their starter. So who's the lucky stiff that drafted him? Looks like FM took him with the 11.1 pick. Nice nice! Oh and congrats to Twilight for taking Gore. He's looking good now! Real good.
not long before I took Curtis in a "eh what the heck" sorta pick. Still read that he's working out hard on his own and plans to return so....why not, he's well past his ADP. I'm a huge fan of his and this Barlow trade definitely makes me wonder from a personal non FF sense

someone needs to get ahold of Cecilone expired pick and current, he's up twice
Glad to see he, and Cowboy are taking this league/draft seriously
ahh we don't know what's up in their personal life. For all we know they have a sick relative or somesuch that they have to visit and take care of
Very TrueBTW I sent you a trade offer on the dynasty site about 2 months ago. It's still on the table if your interested.

FM,

I see several waivers done

http://football34.myfantasyleague.com/2006...=58990&O=03

but also on the main page it says no bid $ during the offseason yet I see $ listed there. Que pasa?

Also what's the worst to first ranking for waivers til the season starts if no bid$ is used? Opposite of draft order?
Not sure what you're seeing (perhaps the poll results) but blind bids are going on as you see in the transactions. They are weekly until the season begins and then twice weekly after.

yeah it is the poll resultsreads:

Post draft free agent process.

Weekly blind bid, awarded to highest bidder. Tie breaker based on FCFS.: 3

FCFS-no bid required until the season begins.: 3

How much $ do we have? Where's that type of info?

It's located in the rules but we are starting with $1200 for the year. Bids are min of $20 with $1 incrememnts. You can find all rules on the site under "Reports and Rules". Also a copy was emailed to you a while back. We are using the sames rules in this redraft as the dynasty with modifications where appropriate.

You are correct ffweasel.
It's nothing new. ;)
Glad I could make you feel special. Maybe you can use some of that on your drafting? Just a thought. :boxing:
Must be nice to have a top pick again...
