Thank you. I have my draft tommorow, and this is invaluable.
And I'm sure you think this year's rookie WR's are "special." I mean haven't you heard...Greg Jennings looks like a young Marvin Harrison, lol. :loco:

Did he say anything about "great draft advise inside"? I don't understand why more and more people go out of their way to be tools on this board lately.

welcome to the new world of FF, where every joe schmo has a lineup and some "expert" advice...it only gets worse from here until the board becomes a pay siteEDIT: I am actually new to this site from another one (to be left unnamed) due to this exact problem. Too many comedians and wise-a**es to balance out the real, quality info

I agree. it's lie people are trying so hard to get the perfect "zing" in and be critical, that we've forgetton how to be respectful and friendly.I think we need an official "Be Nice" day here in the Shark pool.

I propose we have it on Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday and not many people will be on the board.

So, this Tuesday, September 5th, is ****the Official "Be Nice Day" at FBG****

No flaming

No sarcasm

No "Take it to the help board"

No "What are you in? A six-teamer?"

Nothing nasty at all.

Jennings was a 2nd round pick, #52 overall - the same position as Chris Chambers in the 2001 Draft. I don't know why you are comparing him to those 2001 1st round busts.

You're right. How dare of me to compare an overhyped football player to past overhyped football players.

Has nothing to do with this site, or any other site for that matter. Anytime people have the opportunity to post on any board anonymously you'll have wise-asses. It's not a new concept.

Over-hyped? Prior to the draft he was listed as the 19th best WR and I posted that he was highly under-rated considering his abilities and what he had done in college. It wasn't until the Packers choose him surprisingly in the 2nd that people started paying attention to him. Getting picked by the Packers and earning a starter job with Favre at QB makes him an appealing pick.

Agreed, its nothing new, but it is nowhere near as bad here as the site i just moved from. And that to-be-left-unamed site was a legitimate source of solid FF info a few years ago. I watched it slowly deteriorate into a cespool of budding comics who know nothing about FF. Mostly due to a lack of response from the mod's. anyway love this site and hope it can maintain the quality by being severe with the comics.

want to know what makes the first round busts look worse?

2001 draft

2-5 Chad Johnson Bengals WR Oregon State

2-21 Chris Chambers Dolphins WR Wisconsin

3-12 Steve Smith Panthers WR Utah

7-4 T.J. Houshmandzadeh Bengals WR Oregon State

It would have made more sense if you had shown how 2nd round picks who have earned starting jobs their rookie years have done. If your point was to just to say that predicting the NFL success of college WR's - even highly rated ones - is notoriously difficult to predict, then good job.

 How about you just spell the point of this because it must be over my head too. What do those picks have to do with Jennings? Or with anything? You wish for peopl to stop trying to predict success? Or only draft receivers who are guarenteed to be great players?

This may be a bit off topic, but many of our biggest wise-asses aren't exactly anonymous. I'm pretty sure it's a cultural phenomenon.

You must be a hoot at parties :banned: :hidave:
I will just say this and leave this discussion: Many of us play in big $$$ games and value the info and feedback that you can get from these sites. Sure, we dont need these forums since we're pretty confident in our own abilities. But, the forums are a "nice-to-have" and when the they are overrun with wanna-be rodney dangerfields, it gets a bit difficult to sift throught the clutter to find the relevant posts.c you on the high road.

Ok then...The 1st round WR class of 2001 sucked. You're right, helluva insightful post.

By the way, you brought up Greg Jennings, not me.
