The Great 2020 All Time Movie Draft- The judging is heavily biased against me. It’s a hoax! Fake news. (1 Viewer)

Round 1.16  Best Villain  -  Dracula

I get all of them, and none of them have suits with nipples.

Can Darth Vadar turn himself into a mist?  Can he?

Round 2.1  Fantasy  -  The Princess Bride

Definitely quotable.  And it has a real giant in it.  Top that, Buttercup!

(Prioritizing this stuff is hard.)

You haven’t seen Godfather AND Casablanca?  I’m almost jealous - I don’t know how old you are but those are two classics and worthy of your time.
Late 40's and not a big movie guy.  Generally black and white movies put me off a bit and I am not really sure why I never saw The Godfather.  I guess I should add these to the list.

If you like gangster movies there’s no reason to think you won’t love The Godfather.  Casablanca has basically everything you’d want in a movie, except apparently color.

2.4 Goodfellas- best gangster film

De Niro, Pesci, and Scorsese. That’s a winning combo. Simply one of the best depiction of mafia life there is.

Good point. Dracula has some major advantages on Vader.

Both can do mind control but Dracula can turn into a bat and a mist. He scored way more with the ladies. Also, he would be more powerful in space where he can get further away from the sun.

Grabbing this one now as this is not a favorite category of mine and I usually steer clear of the genre so don't have a big list, but this is a clear top movie for me regardless of category so happy to slot it here.

Winner of the following Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay making it only the third film in history to accomplish that feat.

Silence of the Lambs - 1991 - Horror

Is this a horror movie?  I don't think of it for that category.  Seems miscast there.

I don't feel I have to wipe everybody out, Tom. Just my enemies.

2.5 Best Sequel- The Godfather Part 2 (1974)

dir. by Francis Ford Coppola, starring Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, John Cazale.

A little more strategy here. Sequels could be a messy category full of a lot of pretty good movies. Godfather 2 is among the best period and to me, a complete equal to the original.

Interesting debate. Is he a better movie star or actor? This is a competition so maybe we shouldn't say?
He's pretty low-key and humble as A-list actors go. He's definitely a star but not glamorous like a lot of other younger guys and girls that would better fit the description.

True, I just meant in the sense that he has a special on screen presence. He is just instantly likable and relatable. Putting him into a role guarantees a money, an audience, attention and a level of likability that few people can generate.

If I was doing this, I probably would have taken that in the first, based on VBD.  Not too many great sequels out there.

Fantastic pick, IMO.  Hags and I considered it at 2 overall because of the category.

Google classified it as thriller/horror I did check to make sure before I posted, I think the subject matter would classify it as such as well imho...

Quick question, once a movie is chosen it’s only off the board for just that category not the whole draft is that right?
