The Great 2020 All Time Movie Draft- The judging is heavily biased against me. It’s a hoax! Fake news. (2 Viewers)

Man, I need Winz to get in here and Mrs. Rannous to not snipe my next pick. I'll literally cry if it gets taken...

I would say we can skip @TheWinz and you are up
Okay.  If this is a problem because SNIPE, let me know.  I have backups.

Round 3  -  Best Musical  -  Singin' In The Rain

I've taken this before in a category that isn't in this draft- a scene in a movie that shows how movies are made.  But it's the best musical, so it's mine.  Bwa ha ha.

Round 3  -  Legendary Movie Star  -  Female  -  Elizabeth Taylor

The White Diamonds perfume is really nice.  And she has a honkin' big diamond named for her.  She can even act.

(Do I hear sobbing?)

Great pick with Singin' in the Rain, surefire #1 musical that I was hoping would slip a bit more.

Great picks - both these were on our radar but expected both to be gone.  Honestly, if I wanted to “win” I think I would have gone with Singing in the Rain with our last pick.  I’m not a huge musical guy in general though.

No Sobbing from me. I like the Liz Taylor pick, I forgot what a huge star she was.
the coverage of her & another film star's affair/marriage in the early 60s was of an internet density. because it happened on the set of the most expensive movie ever made, the studio's publicity dept encouraged the coverage for box-office purposes and almost single-handedly created the phenomenon of front-page gossip

Yeah, I am kind of balancing trying to win with picking movies/people I really love

For those saying they can judge - please select the categories you want - again, first come first serve for now.  Also would be good if you state whether you would be open to judging others if we don’t find a judge for a particular category.
I wouldn't mind doing:

30's or before (surprised there's no silent category)

70's film

Horror

Space

I've only seen like 3 movies from the 1930's, but saw this one in a high school English class toward the end of the year.

4.03 - Gone With the Wind (1930's)

Unless I've missed something I think you can also join the draft if you want to take over for Eephus - unless somebody else already did.

Singing in the Rain is def #1, on to plan B, top movie for me...

Sorry, had to go into work for 5 hours and missed my pick.  We flew through about 15 picks, and I thought I was safe not to PM my picks

Theres a lot of really terrible things about that movie but it’s so well made that I do like it. I’m a sucker for big epics with huge budgets.

Ok, I'll do it. So I owe 2 then, right?

Tarantino - Modern director

Comedy - Blazing Saddles

eta - writeups a bit later. Have to step out for an hour or three.
