I think the fact that I had been up for 24 hours at that point and was exhausted definitely helped in this matter.  It didn't mean that I wasn't on the fence about hitting it like the fist of an angry god, because I damn sure was. But after she "relaxed," I, feeling pleased with myself for my efforts, relaxed too.  Had I been on my home court, or at her place, this may have turned out a little differently. I'm a stereotypical "nice guy" when it comes to the fairer sex, some of the ludicrous stories in my thread notwithstanding.  I learned a while back that these situations can often be counter-intuitive.  There have been a handful of situations where I have chosen to "do the right thing" rather than what I wanted to do simply because I thought I was being a gentleman.  Turns out it was the wrong move, both short and long term, every time.  Maybe that's just my experience and a small sample size that I'm drawing from so I'm not preaching this as gospel here, it just colored my thinking going forward.  And led to better stories in the process...

Nope. You’re right. I’m 0-2 myself on nice guy move. This is just brutal. Zero Long term potential for the hero and heroine, unfortunately. 

There is no denying that our hero made a huge blunder.  I have been happily married for over 10 years but every once in a while my mind wonders back to a situation where I made the wrong the move with some young, hot broad.  Hell, like most of you probably, missing out on nailing some hot chick is often one of the things that my circle of friends bring up to each other when we want to tick each other off. 

You never forget the hot women you could have got naked.  Ever.

She nods in agreement and says ok and I say "But... I really want to touch you, and I don't think that breaks any rules, does it?" She shakes her head . I slink down to the floor and kneel by the couch, while still kissing her. I put my hands on her and then under her shirt. I kiss her neck some more just to make her squirm. My wandering hands pull her shirt up and my lips find my way down her chest. She is clearly aroused and enjoying it, so I continue. I make eye contact with her and kiss her while unbuckling her jeans and slipping my hand in. After a couple of minutes, she is arching her back, and almost doing a backbend on the the couch. I climb back on the couch beside her and encourage her behavior. After another minute or so her entire body goes tense and she is whispering very bad words into my ear, and I just grin.    We have liftoff.

I've had luck both ways.  No sure I've kept a tally, but there are plenty of times that waiting and teasing was the shark move.

Or, he could have hammered away and then not returned her texts/calls for a week.  That works too, but only if you're looking for someone to hook up with and don't want a long-term relationship.

He says he regrets that move all the time. His story changes depending on who we are talking to or what type of mood he is in. He either regrets it because he claims to have spent like 350 dollars on that date that night and got nothing for it, or he regrets it because that is what made me fall for him and now we have been married for like 70 + years, even though we are both in our 30's.

As to the 2nd part, I am sure he has, but none that he has ever shared with me or that I care to discuss. So I can't help there.

yeah yeah, like I said, if there is the slightest possibility of #### going south for me (and there definitely was here with Kate in trainwreck mode and M-I-A at the time also a random wandering the grounds nearby), it most certainly will. History has shown me this repeatedly, so I, maybe subconsciously, have adjusted my decision making to be a little more cautious. However, being more cautious doesn't always end in failure.   I didn't get this vibe from her that this was going to be a one-night stand or else I may have made a different choice. As it was, also in my mind was the fact that I was tired as hell, and not sure I was up to a peak performance and I wanted her to remember this. If/when this goes down, I want her to salute the Colonel the next morning.
