Looking at the 0-4 start from the prespective of both a fan and a FF owner, I have to say I cannot believe the rotten luck this team has. We finally have an offense that is "decent" and our defense cannot stop a thing. I knew we would not be good this year, but what I am seeing emerge offensively is encouraging. The O line is starting to block better (againt the jets I didn't really think this was telling, but the Oakland D is better than average), the schemes are working well, and the playcalling is starting to make sense. We still have too many turnovers, but most of them (in the old days of our good defense) wouldn't have been backbreakers.

Defensively, Jesus Christ! Porter is a Bust and Jason Taylor seems to have decided to take the year off this year. Our secondary looks good only because people can run on us at will. I guess this offseason will be a defensive rebuild. I can live with that since defenses are easier to make decent than offenses are. This cannot be just b/c Zack Thomas is out, so I guess unless the scheme changes, we may be looking at a top 3 pick in 2008.

Agreed. The defensive woes are alarming. We all knew that we were getting old, but no one expected this dramatic of a drop off. Going from good to above-average, yes. Good to horrible? Who knew????

Looking ahead to the draft, who could we be looking at:

Quarterback??? I wouldn't think that Cam would go after a QB (that would be a hard sell after the Quinn-Ginn-Beck scenario).

Running back??? Seems to be solid with Ronnie finally running hard and Booker waiting for at least few touches.

Wide Receiver??? Chambers is targeted often and has been putting up good #'s with T. Green. Booker? Ginn? Hagan? Could be the position to target with the 1st rounder.

Tight End??? At this point, this looks like a need, but not sure taking a TE in the top 1-3 spots is wise.

O-Line??? Definitely a need.

So unless the Phins really turn it around (unlikely???) they should be looking at either a receiver, OLinemen or defensive player in the 1st round.

I know it's early but, who could be the top 1) Receiver, 2) Olinemen, 3) Defensive player in next year's draft?

This defense is ruining my fantasy team. I think I've got negative points over the last 3 weeks combined. I thought I'd be getting a steal according to the projections I was reading and drafted them in 2 of 3 leagues. <_<

Last 3 weeks.......don't you guys have add/drops? I picked Miami in one league as well but it just took me 2 weeks to figure out that's not the team I'm going with. Picked up KC off the waiver and have done just fine. Do yourself a favor, don't make it 4 weeks in a row...........

Yeah, hindsight tells me I held on way too long with these guys ... unfortunately, there's not much on the wire but I'll take anyone over them right now. I think they might be ranked last in team D scoring right now ...

When Zach comes back, the defense should improve their play slightly. I agree that Taylor has been non-existant as has Porter and the rest of the defensiveline which is usually our strong suit.

The offense has been playing well enough that if we had last years defense, we probably would have won a couple of games this season.

Looks like we are looking at a top 5 pick and I have no doubt in my mind it'll be a defensive player like Dorsey or Campbell. We need to inject some youth into this defense. Our last 3-4 drafts have set us back a whole lot and it's time we start drafting BPA over need.
