The most Dangerous players at their position (1 Viewer)

I was thinking about employing a strategy this year where I draft the most dangerous player at a position relative to their ADP.

So just thinking out load here and was wondering how may this tier system look.

QB

Brady

Brees

Manning

Rodgers

Favre

Schaub

Not too differet than normal draft boards I guess - out of the guys above probably looking to snag a guy like Favre since his ADP would be the lowest. Others I think that may have boom potential this year include Cutler in Martz's system

RB

Chris Johnson

Maurice Jones-Drew

Ray Rice

Steven Jackson

Jamaal Charles

Surprise of this bunch is definately JC - I could see him having a lot of big games just as he did last year. Steven Jackson is a guy you probably get on the cheap in the late 1st round.

WR

Andre Johnson

Fitz

Megatron

DeSean Jackson

Percy Harvin

DeSean and Percy are the question marks but have great boom potential for the upcoming season. If your league counts return yards Percy Harvin was a top 10 WR last year and DeSean Jackson was a top 5.

TE

Clark

Gates

Vernon Davis

The most atheltic of the group is Vernon Davis. 13 TD's last year should get him noticed in this year's FF draft. He and Alex Smith has something going late in the 2nd half of the year.

I think it might be more interesting to look at guys based on their ADPs. For instance who is the most dangerous player in round 1, round 4 or round 8? I mean it's pretty likely that all of the RBs on your list are gone in round 1 and probably at least 2 of the WRs and 1 of the QBs.

I like Romo as a potential value play at QB as he is often the 6th or 7th QB to be picked, and he has solid potential to outplay his ADP IMHO

Most 'dangerous'? Would you expand on what that means?

Seems to me you are simply trying to find the best values relative to ADP and your own personal opinions.

Dangerous = Playmaker, can put up mega points on any given week? Highest ceiling? High risk, High reward players?

If that's the case then why choose Favre from this list of QBs? Is he really the highest reward guy (coming off a career year at 40, and being so wildly popular that he is almost always drafted ahead of his production level)? Seems to me that Favre is one of the safer bets on that list and Rogers/Schaub are the big risk/reward guys.QBBradyBreesManningRodgersFavreSchaubWhich brings me to the point that this seems exactly like finding the best value based upon ADP and personal opinions (e.g. OP likes Favre as the upside guy while I like Rogers/Schaub). I don't want to be picking nits I just don't see this as unique strategy.

If you're looking to draft a team that's all high-risk, high-upside, then how about something like this:

Kevin Kolb

Jamaal Charles

Jahvid Best

Vincent Jackson

Johnny Knox

Terrell Owens

Shouldn't be too hard to get most/all of those guys. Could probably even grab a few "sure things" along the way.

did you seriously leave adrian peterson off this list?... thats a little ridiculous
Not to mention Chad Ochocinco who is easily one of the most dangerous, upside WRs out there.
Wouldn't really agree with that at all. Especially considering he's 32 years old and his QB, who used to have one of the best deep balls in football, has a completely shot arm. Obviously a very solid fantasy option, but he doesn't have the potential and upside of the guys he had listed.
