The NFL Draft Class of 2008 (1 Viewer)

The draft hasn't happened yet but I think it's safe to say. The NFL draft class of '08 is the worst ever. What the heck happened? Maybe something was in the U.S. water supply back in 1986 which has led to such widespread loserdom.

I don't blame all these NFL teams trying to trade down. Who wants to pay first round money for second round talent?

This is a solid class featuring unusual depth at a few positions. Several scouts have commented that the RB class is very good. A Cowboy official says the RBs are the best he's seen since he's been in the business dating back to 1989. The OTs are solid and deep. The WRs are solid and deep. The interior OL is shakey. TE is a mixed bag as always. QB is loaded with potential and deep. Missing from the offensive side of the ball is the usual elite talent, but I won't be surprised if several fanchise players emerge. This is a sweet draft for fantasy purposes because of the depth at WR and RB.

The corners are excellent and very deep. The safeties are considered weak and shallow, but I think they are very underrated. The ILBs are a nice crop, a very nice crop. At OLB we have a handful of elite talent and a pretty quick drop off. The DTs also have two elite prospects and nice depth. DE is probably no worse than average.

Overall this is a better class than last year, not as strong as 06 but closer than I originally thought.

The class of 08 is sweet.

If you look at the last 8 classes, very few have more than 14 1st round picks with 1st round worthy careers. 2001 has 12.

I'd say the odds are good that this will be an average or better class.

It is deeper than usual, without the elite prospects though. If most class stock look like the rockies (few elite, many marginal), this one looks more like highland plains (many high, but none really high)

We sure are lucky to have BusterTBronco to set everyone straight. There's a whole industry built on the draft, and by and large they say otherwise. Obviously they must all know nothing. Thanks BusterT!

Well, to be fair there is no great QB or WR. The best RB is questionable or a thug. 2 small school guys are the best DB's.....

tis true. For the skill positions, the top guys this year are worse than the top guys in most years. Worst top QB since 2005 (even though Smith went 1.1), worst top RB since 2003, worst top WR since 2006. But if you're looking for depth, this is the best QB class since 2004, best RB class since 2000, and best WR class since maybe 1996. The line will rule the start of this draft, which is GREAT for football (just not sexy for FF)

I've heard almost nothing but bad about this years WR. Altho it could be smokescreens, it seems that alot of teams are reporting that none of the WR are really 1st round talent.

:PThe OT, OG, DE, and LB positions are very deep and, at the same time, top-heavy. Haven't seen anything like it in a while.
