A Thursday night doubleheader? :lmao: The best way to improve a bad product is always to double the quantity.

I haven't been watching these games and haven't missed it at all. At some point in the second half I'll generally remember there's a game on and check my phone for the scoring plays. That's enough for me.
when is this?
Hopefully never. The NFL is considering it for future seasons.

I don't know how people can watch a single game with all the clock stoppages. Damn, there's a lot of down time. I'd just as soon they play all 16 of them on Sunday afternoons and I'll watch RedZone all day.
:goodposting:

Other than the Chiefs there is no way I'm going to sit at home and watch an NFL game on its own... and even the Chiefs games are getting tougher to watch.

I may have it on as background while I do something else.. I may have it on primarily but flip to baseball liberally.

I still really enjoy fantasy football... but I haven't liked watching regular football for 3-4 years now. I'd goto a live game if someone offered me a ticket, but I doubt I'd pay to goto a game.

But Red Zone is an absolutely fantastic product if there are 4+ games going on and is very good viewing

I highly recommend setting up a second tv. Makes the down time much more manageable.

What do you watch on the other tv?
A second game or baseball or redzone. Sometimes also use a third tv and/or my laptop if there's enough going on.

If there's only one game on, I'll generally read something -- no down time with a book -- and look up for the replays. High speed internet has apparently killed whatever patience I have left; I want the data coming to me continuously. So reading, surfing, RedZone and a certain other globally popular sport that goes non-stop for 45 minutes at a time are what my eyeballs are pointed at these days.

Yeah, high speed internet has killed my patience. It's a real problem for me.

Likely a better thread for this somewhere, but I worry about this for kids growing up today. Will they be able to focus on one thing? Hell, I barely can and I didn't grow up with a computer in my hand.

Probably overblown. Lots of baseball players and owners getting rich.

The NFL is ruining the NFL with this watered down crap. The shortened week always leads to mediocre (at best) play.
Yeah, I'm sure Vikings-Redskins on a Sunday would have been legendary.
I'm not sure the matchups really matter. When they play on a short week, the play always seem to be sloppy. I think part of that is planning time and part of that is guys not being able to get healthy enough to perform. It's only going to get worse towards the end of the season imo.

Great game last night. Such a nail-biter!
I had jags -3 so I enjoyed it. The post game commentating was funny though. Rich eisen essentially calls the game terrible and the remaining commentators awkwardly tried to defend it. Pretty funny.

Honestly, though, there have been far worse played games.

Seems the overall reaction is over blown. Its one game. If you dont like it, dont watch it.

As far as fantasy, meh. Its usually just a player or two to decide between. Not a big deal IMO.

I still say Thursday games should only be for teams coming out of the bye week.

SUNDAY------Sunday---THURSDAY--Sunday------SUNDAY

I know you couldn't have TNF in the first few weeks before bye weeks begin but I'm not sure why this couldn't work.

Friday night games would be amazing, but I think in general NFL and NCAA steer away from that night due to high school football. But I wish the NFL would look into Friday nights in December, when high school is done for the season.

Not many viewers stay home on Friday nights. It's a TV dead zone.

True, guess I am just thinking of myself, where I would for sure go to happy hour after work which would segway into dinner/drinks somewhere showing the game.
