The Nick Foles era (1 Viewer)

On WIP,  they just read that plus another section about coming home from the hospital. Tragic event handled with class and grace by the Jags and the family.

Nick Foles completed 6-of-10 passes for 48 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the Jaguars' third preseason game.

It was Foles' first action of the season. A whopping seven of his targets were directed No. 1 receiver Dede Westbrook's way. For his score, Foles found Westbrook on play action in the end zone. For his pick, he was also targeting Westbrook. A game manager with tinges of big-play magic to his game, Foles will be limited to streaming status in his new home.

(Dynasty League Football) Nick Foles suffered a broken left clavicle in Jaguars debut. Analysis: Foles went down on his non-throwing shoulder and will be out 6-8 weeks after undergoing surgery tomorrow. It's a brutal blow to the Jaguars offense and to Foles, who had a golden opportunity this season. Gardner Minshew will replace him in the short-term, but the Jags will surely address the position in the coming days. As for Foles, it's going to be tough for him to retain his current position as our dynasty QB29.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Nick Foles (collarbone) will be placed on injured reserve with a designation to return.

The IR designation will cost Foles a minimum of eight weeks, though the Jaguars are optimistic he'll return at some point. In the meantime, sixth-round Washington State product Gardner Minshew will serve as the Jags' starter, though Jacksonville figures to sign a veteran backup.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone expects Nick Foles (collarbone) to practice next week.

When Foles underwent surgery after breaking his collarbone in Week 1, the projected recovery time was 10 to 12 weeks, so a return to practice next week would be pushing it. There's not a real reason for Foles to return so quickly given Gardner Minshew's breakout season. Even if Foles proves he's healthy in a few weeks, he's by no means guaranteed to play this season as long as Minshew Mania continues.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet

The #Jaguars will have QB Nick Foles back at practice today, working on a limited basis as he returns from a broken collarbone. He is eligible to return to the field for Week 11 against the #Colts , and that is the plan.

Jaguars activated QB Nick Foles (clavicle) from injured reserve.

Coach Doug Marrone confirmed earlier Tuesday that Foles will slide back in as starter following the Jaguars' Week 10 bye. Despite Gardner Minshew's sometimes-inspired play, the sixth-round rookie was held to one or zero touchdowns in three of his final four starts, and completely melted down in the team's 26-3 loss to the Texans in London. Being paid $50.125 million guaranteed, Foles was always going to be reinstated under center. Willing to take deep shots, his insertion is not bad news for D.J. Chark or Chris Conley.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone announced Nick Foles will start after Jacksonville's Week 10 bye.

This comes after Gardner Minshew's four-turnover meltdown in London. Minshew was a rookie of the year candidate with a 13:4 TD/INT ratio over eight starts, but the Jaguars are in win-now mode with Marrone coaching for his job and have financial incentive to go back to Foles ($50M guaranteed). Foles may not have a huge leash if the Jaguars (4-5) fall out of playoff contention. He'll get a matchup with the Colts after a Week 10 bye.

I bet every QB on that list moves up if you remove their worst year.

Foles certainly does have a favorable schedule, and an especially sweet FF playoff schedule.

Week 13 -- TB (30th in FF points allowed vs. QBs)

Week 14 -- LA Chargers  (10th)

Week 15 -- Oakland (31st)

Week 16 -- Atlanta (29th)
I've wondered about Dede Westbrook going forward... going into the season Foles' love affair with slot WRs was noted quite a bit, then the INJ happened and never got to see it materialize. Might be worth targeting in a ho-hum trade attempt before the unknown becomes known?

As a Big Ben / Newton / Dalton owner, welcome aboard Foles!  Hope you can make a difference in the playoffs ... if I make it there.

Nick Foles completed 33-of-47 passes for 296 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in Week 11 against the Colts.

Foles looked shaky in his first start since Week 1, leading Jacksonville to a bunch of scoreless possessions after a second series touchdown to D.J. Chark. He added another garbage-time TD to Chark, who has caught all three of Foles's touchdowns this season. Foles got most of his completions on checkdowns, averaging just 6.3 YPA. He was a downgrade from Gardner Minshew, but the Jaguars should stick with him at least another week. Foles has a matchup with the Titans in Week 12.

Was this Roto-blurb written by Gardner's mom or agent?
foles agent rebutts:

Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles completed 33 of his 47 pass attempts for 296 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in Sunday's loss to the Colts. Analysis: Foles didn't look rusty and was surprisingly called upon to throw 47 passes in his first game back from injury as the Jaguars ran the ball just nine times on Sunday. While the Jaguars lost, Foles had a solid day for fantasy owners. Jacksonville travels to Tennessee to take on the Titans next week.

foles in week 13 should be gold in a shootout. he needs one more week to get his timing down. he was awful last week in the accuracy department, but made good reads. most of his incompletes looked like the receivers were open or had a seam. he flat out missed them. so for this week, start at your own risk but hold if you can. for next week, i'd say a must start.

Nick Foles completed 32-of-48 passes for 272 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions while adding 20 yards on three rushing attempts Sunday in the Jaguars’ Week 12 loss to Tennessee.

Foles was tagged for three sacks, resulting in a loss of 20 yards. As you'd expect, the vast majority of Foles' output including 30 of his 48 passing attempts came with Jacksonville trailing in the second half. Even in garbage time, Leonard Fournette remained the Jags' offensive focal point, seeing 12 targets in addition to his 24 rushing attempts. Foles mostly played it safe, settling for check-downs and intermediate throws rather than stretching the field vertically. That took deep threat D.J. Chark (5-38-0 on six targets) out of the equation. It's hard to say if Foles gives Jacksonville a better chance to win than Gardner Minshew, who strung together a handful of nice performances early in the year. The former Super Bowl MVP has largely underwhelmed since returning from a broken collarbone, though a get-right spot against Tampa Bay's non-existent secondary awaits him in Week 13.

Anyone starting Foles this week? Great matchup, but he hasn't been great since coming back. The stache lurking too is also concerning. I'm considering him over Dak in a league where I need to win and score in the top 6 for the week to make the playoffs.

Playing over Kyler and Wentz right now. TB is stout against the run and weak against the pass. Going back and forth with Kyler....as Lamar just lit up the Rams....but that is Lamar.

Nick Foles was benched at halftime of the Jaguars' Week 13 game against the Bucs.

Foles was the worst player on the field in the opening 30 minutes. His first three drives ended with turnovers, an interception literally thrown right to LB Devin White, a sack-fumble returned for a touchdown by White, and then another sack-lost fumble in the red zone. Foles then "led" back-to-back three-and-out possessions to close out the half before Gardner Minshew got the nod to raucous cheers in the third quarter. Foles finished 7-of-14 for 93 yards and the three turnovers. Foles has proven to be a colossal free-agent bust.
