The NY Giants Will Crush the Panthers (1 Viewer)

You guys seriously don't get the point behind this thread?BnB is a Panthers fan, this is a reverse-jinx.

:wall: Why did I have to be right? Manning a bunch of INTs and Barber only 13 carries.
:wall: :wall: This is an stat that always drives me nuts. Low rushing attempts are generally a result of losing, more often then a cause of losing. The Giants had to give up on the run because they were losing, not because that was their game plan.
It wasn't till very late in the game that the Giants had to give up the run. It was only 10-0 at halftime and still 10-0 more than halfway through the third quarter when Eli's first pass was intercepted. At that point, Tiki only had 9 carries, 29 yards (though he did have three receptions too).

Please look a little deeper into the numbers. The Giants didnt give up on the run until late in the game (4th quarter). The Giants only stopped running because they were losing by 20. 7 (9 if you count the picks) of the 18 attempts Eli had were in the 4th quarter from the shotgun after they were losing by 20. Its silly to suggest they should have continued to run here instead.1st quarter Tiki ran the ball 5 times. The Giants ran 10 plays. Score 0-0

2nd quarter Tiki ran 4 times. The Giants ran 8 plays. Score 10-0.

Tiki has half of the plays as runs at this point. Is this not normal?

3rd quarter Tiki has 4 runs. Giants run 11 plays. Score 17-0.

Score is 20-0 before the Giants get the ball back in the 4th quarter. Up to this point Tiki has 13 runs out of 28 plays. Thats pretty normal for the Giants no? How anyone can say the Giants gave up on the run is beyond me?

Umm...isn't that what I just said?

Sorry - I must of misunderstood your post as I thought you were defending yankobbs post. I interpreted it as you saying the Giants only had to give up on the run late in the game but choose to give up on the run earlier. I assumed your statement of "Tiki only had 9 carries mid way through the third quarter meant that you were saying the Giants gave up on the run.Sorry if I read this wrong.
