Looking forward to the five in Boston later this month and the 3 down in New York in mid-September.Ummm I wasnt talking about tonight's games. I mean for Gods sakes I posted this with the Red Sox down one run in the 8th inning. Do you think I really thought that game was over with the immortal Fausto Carmona pitching the 9th?\And the free fall begins. Anybody wanna buy my Yankee tickets in Sept? There's gonna be plenty of meaningless games ahead for the Indians do to that.Wedge also has to show me some heart. And the Indians need to entertain their fans by ripping the Red Sox dreams away from them when they have a chance.gotta get your young guys some real game experienceWedge doesn't have the heart, commitment, and drive to win.
Those are the tickets I will be selling because that series will mean nothingSure.... leave off the best part of my post.... Yanks still in first....Another come from behind, ninth inning win...

The strange part is that this is the first I have seen of you in this thread. Can't imagine why that would be....Enough jabbering with Yanks fans. Once again the Comeback Kids get it done. Nice to see Lester pitch another good game, first inning notwithstanding. He definitely got a bit of luck too (pickoffs, Coco catch) but overall handled himself well.Time to knock the Indians out tomorrow nightSure.... leave off the best part of my post.... Trust me, I saw plenty of games a year ago where teams were out of it and tried like hell to win instead of playing kids. That was a load of BS. If there is ONE issue with these Indians its that they lack heart. And you can see in this management style that Wedge doesn't have heart. If Wedge truly thirsted for victory, there is no way he could stomach managing like he did this series. And you either understand that, or you don't.no time like the presentThere's gonna be plenty of meaningless games ahead for the Indians do to that.gotta get your young guys some real game experienceWedge doesn't have the heart, commitment, and drive to win.

Bro, I can get face value for them in September even when the series will be meaningless. Theyre behind home plate.Bro, what you want for them then? You're certain they're worthless.... I don't think they are. I'd love to roll in behind home plate in our colors. What'cha wanting for them. I've got a couple round trip tickets I gotta burn by January...' date='Aug 2 2006, 10:36 PM' post='5263916']

So you mean the Sox have waiver wire priority, and the Yanks can't block a catcher pickup?Yanks still in first by .002

Carmona is single-handedly keeping your boys in it right now. Sox should probably be 2 back.Needed that, at least this team has heart, they are going to need it.

They need to show some serious heart... and need a #4 starter to step up... hopefully wells or snyder can be consistent till wake gets backSo you mean the Sox have waiver wire priority, and the Yanks can't block a catcher pickup?Yanks still in first by .002![]()
http://www.projo.com/redsox/content/projo_...ez.1f48aa0.htmlBOSTON -- The Red Sox have targeted Baltimore's Javy Lopez as their top target to help replace starting catcher Jason Varitek, industry sources indicated yesterday.
The Sox spoke to the Orioles yesterday, who confirmed that they would be willing to move Lopez, on the final year of a multi-year deal. Lopez is scheduled to make $8.5 million this year but has lost playing time to Ramon Hernandez and has asked to be dealt.
Lopez, who can become a free agent after this season, was disappointed that he wasn't traded before Monday's non-waiver trade deadline. According to a source, Lopez, like many players in the game, was placed on waivers Monday and is expected to clear this afternoon.
The Orioles aren't expected to ask for much in return for the 36-year-old Lopez. The catcher has approximately $2.7 million left on his 2006 salary, though the Orioles have indicated a willingness to absorb at least some of the remaining money in order to facilitate a deal. The more money the Red Sox pay, the less they'll have to surrender in terms of a prospect.
that'd work for 4-8 weeks. give the $$So you mean the Sox have waiver wire priority, and the Yanks can't block a catcher pickup?Yanks still in first by .002

and honestly it's a move the yankees would make, which is a good thing. i can't remember is he a switch hitter?yep. Gotta love those two thousandths of a percentage that ensure the Yankees cannot block the move.It is an expensive move ($2-3 mill for 2 months work) but they have a gaping need right now, and it would certainly improve the team

This is far and away the best post in this whole thread. When did "walkoff" start applying to anything but Homeruns?...like, a walkoff walk, for instance.
My personal favorite is the walkoff fielder's choice...The most exciting play in sports! This is far and away the best post in this whole thread. When did "walkoff" start applying to anything but Homeruns?

Theo? I thought he quit.wilked said:Interesting move by Theo. Lot of consequences, including:1) Strong offensive upgrade to C2) Sox now have a legitmate backup 1B3) Theo silenced the 'thanks for making no trade deadline move' crowd4) That dude Huckaby won't see more than 1 game behind the plate

If the Sox play against the Yanks the way they did against the Indians this year, their season's over.Tremendous Upside said:Anyone who doesn't think this division is going to be decided by the NINE games they play against each other is just being delusional...Kind of wish Yanks/Sox was the finals series of the regular season again like last year, but nine games head to head in a one month span (including 2 doubleheaders) will tell the tale...
