What happened to him?

It's not that I don't love the guy anymore, it is that he just sucks. He lost what he had last year.

Phillies will never win in the 2009 post-season with him as the closer, if we even get there.

Reminds me of Isringhausen last year. The Cards had over 30 blown saves, yet still won 86 games. Just think if they would have had the stud closer last year that they have this year.

Man, is he terrible. :moneybag: The thing is, Charlie Manuel is still backing him after last night's loss.
What are his other options:Madson: has been shaky in SV opportunitiesMyers: on minor league rehab assignment. has closed beforePedro: intriguing but probably couldn't pitch back-to-backMoyer: hmmPark: has been decent recentlyTyler Walker: has closed beforeOthers: I suspect some NL team with a worse record would claim LaTroy Hawkins if only to keep the Phillies from doing so. And would you really feel comfortable with LaTroy Hawkins?

Eyre? He's pitching well.. Myers is probably the most logical replacement though.. Lidge lost his confidence, and the confidence of his teammates (though they will never admit it publicly)

I think it's obvious they lost confidence in him with the way they're playing behind him. Errors galore. They're playing tight when he's on the mound because they're thinking THEY need to be perfect because Lidge is a mess and it's affecting everyone.

Honestly I think last year was an aberation and the Phils just got really lucky with him.

I never thought he'd ever recover from the Pujols bomb back with Houston and he's looking like he's regressed back to that "nerves are shot" pitcher.
