Feel free to hand in you mancard to all of those that answered "cat person."

(yes, I realize this is politically incorrect)

We dog sit quite a bit. I enjoy the pooch but am glad to give him back as well.

They are messy as hell but I do love the personalities.

LOVE dogs. I’ll sum it up just by saying they don’t live long enough.

Cats are pretty cool but I can’t get past the ****ting in the house thing. (Yes, I know your house doesn’t stink. I know if I go to your house, I can’t tell. ) Even if I could, I can’t read a cat. I can look at a dog and tell what they’re thinking. Cat? I have no idea.

I went with “meh” solely because I don’t love all dogs. In fact—there are a good amount of them that I cannot stand. I think good dogs are legit amazing. I think bad ones are beyond terrible. I do understand that most bad dogs are probably a result of bad owners—and to that I say: If you were to ask the same question but replace the word “dogs” with “humans”—I too would answer “meh”.

If those are my only options then I’ll go with the best but honestly my dogs can annoy me at times and so can the neighbors dogs. But they are so damn loyal and give unconditional love so honestly my issue is more with dog owners than dogs.

Nine times out of ten it’s that they want to murder you.

If I could afford it, I'd buy 50 acres, fence it in and adopt 100 dogs..
At one point we had a sheltie, a beagle, a Mutt(Irish setter, lab) and 2 cats and I still would have had more dogs if I had the room and :moneybag:

Cats are evil.. Yet we love them as much as our dogs. We splurged last year and bought one of the robot litterboxes'.. Well worth it.. I work from home and "share" my office space with the cat and there is absolutely no smell now .

I think I'm gonna do that some day when I get too old to want to travel anymore. Maybe build a little guest house or two and get a couple of altruistic young people to take care of everything in exchange for free room, board and a small stipend. I can just hang out with the dogs and probably some goats b/c I just think they're cool as well.

Awesome. Until you go on vacation.
Why is that? They freak out at doggy boarding?
We boarded once.. All I thought about the whole time was how sad and afraid they looked as we left. :frown:
We now have family and/or friends stay at our house when we go on vacation

I could never!

:clutchespearls:

Yea, I don't know what we may do. It seems like we will probably have a puppy come spring time, but we have two family vacations planned. One in May and another in June where we cannot bring a pet.

I love dogs. We have 3, 2 of which are older (the younger dog is my niece's who's saving to buy her own place).

I'm sure it's that I'm older/busier/more tired than I was when the dogs were young (and certainly having 3 instead of just my one awesome boy the way it used to be), but when they pass, I'm not sure I'll be in a hurry to get another any time soon. They are all well-behaved dogs, but even well behaved dogs are hell on the house. Floors, windows frames, the back door when they need to go in or out. I don't even care about the furniture.
And then there's the travel issues.
I'm sure it's a timing/lifecycle issue for me and the dogs. I couldn't imagine a house without a dog.

Got 2 cats a couple of years ago (my niece sold me on it). Cats are absolutely awesome. Anybody talks #### about my cats and I'll punch them in the mouth. Don't care how big a boy they are.

They're really cool and I love them. But the lifestyle/low-maintenance benefits are very real too.

Anyway dogs and cats are both awesome.

I love my cats, but I'm absolutely on the indoor/outdoor cat thing. Mine don't **** in the house. I like my cats enough that if indoor only was the only option, I'd still want them and deal with the smell from time to time though.

Added benefit. Moles in the yard? Done. Love my dogs but they weren't handling that for me. I have a couple extra cars that I don't drive much. I can rest easy knowing a rodent won't be setting up shop. Not to mention sheds and storage buildings.

I want a barn cat but between the fox and coyote they don’t last long.

I grew up with cats in the family. Had one up until I was about to get married and he unfortunately got sick and had to be put down. After that we got a dog and MAN was that girl the best pet ever. I still cry thinking about her (she passed about 2 years ago).

We now have a rescue dog that I both hate and love.

But yeah, sign me up, dogs are awesome.
