Maine looked good. Wonder if I should give him a look in a fantasy league.

IMO . .10 team league - not yet12 team league - worth a shot but need to see your other SP's or who you'd be dropping.

I would drop Greinke for Maine.

I just think with Maine he'll have a better shot at more W's with the Mets offense as opposed to Greinke and the Royals.

I'm a Mets fan so take it for what it's worth.

I think Greinke is scheduled to play the Red Sox's today. I'll wait it out see how he performs them decide. Thanks for your input.

It was all in his head. It might be time to really give Rick Peterson his due. He made a big mistake with his Zambrano quote (I can fix him in 10 minutes), but he really has done a great job with the staff since coming to NY. Most pitchers just seem to improve with him.

I wonder if scheduling will change after this year? The doubleheader "snowout" might force them to play early season games more south.

Opening Day at Shea today !!!

Bring on big mouthed Rollins and let's see what the Phillies got. Tailgating start in about 1 hour . . .

With D Wrights hit tonight, he breaks the Mets record. 25 straight and going strong

Also Maine is pitching a gem so far.

6 innings and no hits allowed... I'm just saying... Gave up a hit to lead off the 7th. Still a hell of a pitching performance.

Gotta love the Mets beating up a quality SP like Willis last night. It seems like the first time they actually scored a lot of runs on the SP and not feeding on weak bullpens after the starter leaves.

Not to defend Willis but his defense really let him down in the 1st inning last night. The Marlins were booting balls all over the place.Great start so far for the Mets. Especially considering Delgado & Wright have hit 0 HR's so far.Hopefully Peterson can get Ollie straightened out.

8-2 in the 4thWhen the bats are on they are LETHALHernandez looks good
I really like how Shawn Green and Alou have been anchoring the lower half of that lineup. Milledge might as well go back to the minors to get some playing time since it's going to be hard to crack that lineup at this point.

Milledge along with Gomez has been scorching the ball down in New Orleans the past few days.So far so good with both Green & Alou. But it's just a matter of time before either one will hit the DL at some point of the season. When that happens Milledge will be back.

Some quick Met notes . . .

Being reported that Pedro is ahead of schedule . . .

"It appears that Pedro Martinez could rejoin the Mets by the end of this month. Not as a fully functioning member of the rotation, of course. He's not that far ahead of schedule. But he could be throwing from a mound sooner rather than later, and the Mets want him to take that important step under their supervision.

Martinez, who is rehabbing from rotator cuff surgery, has not stepped on a mound since Sept. 27, his final start of last season. After showing up early for spring training, Martinez still waited more than three weeks before playing catch, and he's vowed to take the rehab process slow. But even so, team officials are pleased with his progress, and Martinez was showing a little pop on his fastball at the end of March. The Mets have yet to budge on their conservative estimate of an early-August return for Martinez, but that could always be moved up if his rehab continues without a hitch"

Also hearing that Heilman is hurting. Haven't seen him pitch in a few days and radio broadcasters keep saying he's being rested.

Oliver Perez has been pushed back because Peterson wanted 4 bulpen sessions with him.

LoDuca's hand is still sore.

I'm a Phillies fan, so I probably shouldn't even be in this thread, but I gotta admit, that Oliver Perez has got some talent. He showed it that one year in Pittsburgh but had a rough year last year for the Mets.

He had a rough last year for the Pirates. Perez did pretty decent as a Met and showed that he can come up big in the clutch (as he showed vs. the Cardinals in the postseason). Also, I just want mention that John Main is a complete machine right now. If he can continue this, the Mets will be a bigger force than last season. And if Pedro comes back healthy, with a completely rested arm, the Mets are goign to be unbeatable...possibly.

32-17 with a 4 game lead in the NL East.

Team isn't even close to firing on all cylinders and they are playing well - except when they play the Braves. Don't play the Braves again until August so let's see if the Braves can keep pace.

Going to the game tonight in what should be a good pitching matchup.

Linecum vs Ollie Perez.

Let's go Mets !!!

Mota's 50 game suspension is up soon too, so that's another solid bullpen arm to add to the mix. Wonder who the odd man out will be?

I'm guessing Burgos
