***The Official Ravens Vs Bengals Discussion Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Even off the bench, Boller finds a way to kill Baltimore. It may not be all his fault, but he just has an awful aura.
No, I think it's all his fault.Obviously, he should have run into the end zone and handed it to Heap. That should have been the 2nd TD Boller threw on this drive, if Heap had held onto it.

But Boller sucks. Unreal.

People looking for a goat might want to look to the QB he replaced.

refs just made me lose by a PT, Heap's original TD would of won it for me, wtf, the defender had ahold of heaps shirt. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I just haven't been all that impressed. With all the talk that the Steelers were supposed to finish third this season I was expecting a little more from this game.
:wall:
What else were you looking for? The Bengals D needed to step up. 5 turnovers. Ravens D played just like you would expect them to. Ravens O did about what you would expect them to, minus the TO's. When they did decide to run, they were able to. The Bengals O showed signs of being productive, but the Ravens D is just that good. I'm failing to see why this game didn't impress you at all. I think these 2 teams will destroy Pit.

For all of you blasting the playcalling... it worked. They scored a TD that was taken away on a bad call. It worked again, except Heap dropped the pass. So the playcalling was perfect as it resulted in two TDs that should have been.
What about McNairs INT on THIRD AND ONE that led to the game winning TD for Cincy?

I have Heap, opponent is slightly behind with McGahee. I'm drained after that sequence.
As posted a few minutes ago, opponent had Heap. I #### myself twice in the span of 3 minutes. That's not easy to do.I think the Mike and Mike team is going to suck on MNF. At least half will.
you lucked out.... but a win is a win. congrats.
Thanks. But not out of the woods yet. He has Rackers. Hoping for a 7-3 ending out west.

Boller sucks. Marvin Lewis could have crutches his way five yards into the end zone with seven downs.
Boller threw 2 TD's. The refs took one, then gave him 4 more downs, and Heap took the other one away....
Heap's second foot was out of bounds on the first one. The pass interference actually gave the Ravens a second life.
Except for the fact that the defender grabbed his jersey, which should have made it first and goal at the 1, given that there was no offensive PI.

It was 4th down. If this was true then Cincy would have declined and taken over on downs.

Game over. Heap and Boller can't get it done. I think the real story is McGahee can't get it done in the red zone.
That might have more to do with the Coach calling for the pass instead of the run on Goal to Go, or McGahee not even being on the field during the other Goal to Go series dontcha' think? :excited:

This would result in an interesting tactical scenario. Can they defer declining/accepting the penalty until the result of challenging the TD called on the field?

I thought it was clearly a great game. Just giving CE a little ribbing.

The Ravens did everything possible to lose the game and ultimately did. They lose Ogden early, Lewis hurt on 1st series, McNair hobbled and horrible all game, then add what 5 turnovers (one for a td) and they still had a chance to win if they didn't get too cute.

That's a great question. I don't know.

Don't you think you might want to blame McNair and his 3 fumbles lost and 1 INT? Boller threw 1 INT but his first pass to Heap in the EZ should have counted and the 2nd one hit him right in the #s. You are being a fool if you are blaming this one on Boller. McNair and the Ravens tried as hard as they could to lose this game and they finally ended up succeeding.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. If Heap had hands the size of Texas he couldn't have hung on to that ball. It was a bullet from 5 yards. Plus he had a guy hanging off of him. Ravens have one of the best lines in all of the NFL and you let your BACK UP QB try to win the game. Horrible.Run the ball, Run the ball, and twice on Sunday run the ball.
I will defer to a true FBG who has HDTV, but it looked like the defender got a hand in there. I don't think it was Heap's fault.

The Baltimore offense, obviously, has a lot of work to do before making this a more balanced team. It was hard to tell if it can be competent or not from last night's game because of the frequency of the turnovers. I thought it was pretty amazing that the Ratbirds were still in a position to send the game to OT.My biggest concern is that they suffer a Steeler-esque year of 2006, filled with tons of turnovers and getting everybody's best shot every week. One can't put aside how big a game this was to Cincinnati and its fans.
