I thought it was fairly obvious that these articles outline how to draft according to a general plan, but are not meant to tell you "draft player X in round Y."
More obvious to me that about 75% of the article outlines exactly which players to target at exactly which round or later....not sure how you would interpret that differently than "draft player x in round y."Not saying you should necessarily do that (I used to follow it as gospel and got burned enough that I no longer put much weight on it), but I think that's clearly the goal of the article.I thought it was fairly obvious that these articles outline how to draft according to a general plan, but are not meant to tell you "draft player X in round Y."
They just need an early one and then a rewritten late one right?Which is why I don't ever mention FBG to anyone (sorry FBGs)Seems like FBG is damned if they do, damned if they dont in this situation. If they release the Perfect Draft articles early like this year, then their sleeper QB pick can potentially explode, making the article irrelevant. If they release it late, it ends up being after lots of people's drafts.
I drafted from the 5 spot in a 12 team 0.5 PPR, 2 WR/2 RB/ 1 W/R/T. I love my team. My first two picks were exactly the same and I have a few more players from Dodds's team as well. I went:1. Calvin 2. Jamaal3. Doug Martin4. Darren Sproles5. Rivers6. Torrey Smith7. Vernon Davis8. Pierre Garcon9. Fred Davis10. Titus Young11. Rashad Jennings12. Jacquizz Rodgers13. Garrett Hartley 14. Pats D15. Fitzy The one thing I may regret is taking Fred Davis instead of Kevin Smith. It was between those two guys in the 9th. But I don't fully trust Vernon, and I still love my RB depth anyway, so I think I made the right choice.I just read this article is the subscriber section. I enjoyed the article, but was perplexed by the final roster at the end of the article. You must start a qb, 2 rb, 3 wr and a te. Here it is for the people that didnt read it:Rd 1 - Pick 5 – WR Calvin Johnson, Det/5 (ADP = 5)Rd 2 - Pick 20 – RB Jamaal Charles, KC/7 (ADP = 20)Rd 3 - Pick 29 – RB Ahmad Bradshaw, NYG/11 (ADP = 35)Rd 4 - Pick 44 – RB Doug Martin, TB/5 (ADP = 47)Rd 5 - Pick 53 – WR Brandon Lloyd, NE/9 (ADP = 57)Rd 6 - Pick 68 – QB Matt Ryan, Atl/7 (ADP = 69)Rd 7 - Pick 77 – RB Donald Brown, Ind/4 (ADP = 80)Rd 8 - Pick 92 – WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, Oak/5 (ADP = 99)Rd 9 - Pick 101 – WR Titus Young, Det/5 (ADP = 107)Rd 10 - Pick 116 - TE Brent Celek, Phi/7 (ADP = 126)Rd 11 - Pick 125 – WR Randall Cobb, GB/10 (ADP = 147)Rd 12 - Pick 140 – RB Rashad Jennings, Jac/6 (ADP = 149)Rd 13 - Pick 149 – TE Dustin Keller, NYJ/9 (ADP = 150)Rd 14 - Pick 164 – Buffalo Bills Defense, Buf/8 (ADP = 181)Rd 15 - Pick 173 – QB Jake Locker, Ten/11 (ADP = 192)Rd 16 - Pick 188 – WR Jerome Simpson, Min/11 (ADP = 200)Rd 17 - Pick 197 – RB Bilal Powell, NYJ/9 (ADP = 223)Rd 18 - Pick 212 – WR Emmanuel Sanders, Pit/4 (ADP = 232)Rd 19 - Pick 221 – Best kicker availableRd 20 - Pick 236 - RB Lamar Miller, Mia/7 (ADP = 257)So the team is ryan, Lockercharles, bradshaw, martin, donald brown, jennings, bilal powell, lamar millercalvin, brandon lloyd, heyward bey, titus young, cobb, jerome simpson, emanual sanderskeller, celekbills dbest kicker availablepersonally, I would not want this team. It is stacked at rb, but will suffer at TE and at WR. Matt ryan better put up 5k yards, or it will suffer at qb as well. Even at rb, charles is in a job share and bradshaw has a rookie that will steal touches. I do not claim to know more than dodds or pasquiano (i dont get paid to give my opinions) but am I crazy to think this is a sub par team? Let alone the 'perfect' draft. Is this your perfect draft?
One guy in my 12-team league did something like that. Rodgers in the 1st, Welker in the 2nd, then Sproles in the 3rd and Turner in the 4th. I thought those were bad choices at RB, but he's in 2nd place all the same. It's occurred to me someone could have gone Brees or Rogers in the 1st round, and waited for McGahee, TRichardson, Martin, &/or Peterson, maybe gotten a damned good WR in the 2nd or 3rd, and would be doing extremely well right now.Not sure if I have my ADP's right but......Anybody pull this off?And could have come back with Gonzo at TE later too.Anyway, working on a Lessons Learned for next year.Love to go the rookie RB route, but last few years it has not panned out as well as Richardson and Martin so far this year.

I lucked into something similar to the above. I drafted 5th in a 10 team league where we start 1 QBs, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Def and your flex can be any of the positions so I start 2 QBs. Manning in the 7th of a hyperflex? Wow.I lucked into something similar to the above. Ya, I know. A lot of people are kicking themselves now. Basically my 2 QBs and 2 WRs are winning me the games. I'm not getting much out of the RBs and that's ok. I think people stayed away from Manning because of the surgeries and stuff. It was a gamble taking him because if he didn't work out I'd be hurting that's for sure.Manning in the 7th of a hyperflex? In my only hyperflex leauge (office league, so FWIW) I had to take him in the 3rd. Still paid off big time.Ya, I know. A lot of people are kicking themselves now.
